Without backlinks, we can rank easily for low-competitive keywords. It will take some time but we can, using informative/fresh articles makes your impact on SEO.

try to choose a low competition of keyword, im no sure it help you to rank quicker
 
Yes but it will take dedication high quality article and time, a long long time.
and this is not because your site purely rank with 0 backliink. but other people see your great content than refrence it on his/her own content. hence backlink

Unless you are publishing extremely high quality articles with completely new information and photos. There is no way you can possibly do this unless you are a doctor, a scientist or something. The idea is, if you keep publishing really unique information, someone might eventually link back to you...or better still your articles might just go viral and you end up getting yourself lots of free backlinks.

I guess that also answers your question that no matter what you'll still need backlinks to rank for any valuable keywords. That's the sad reality of SEO.

No , you cannot make a blog popular without backlinks. Any blog that is making lit of money invested a lot in backlinks first.
 
you should write high quality informative content, that article will rank faster
