Mac or Windows laptop which one is better?

I second the productivity comments a 100%.

But, looking past that, I've found that I get a lot of extra life out of macs. I can buy a second hand year old mac and get 5 years out of it. For PCs the most I get out of them is 2-3 years.

I run Windows a lot, so I use parallels which works great. Downside is yet another subscription.

That's a very subjective claim. It's very intuitive aside from some shortcuts and typical stuff that you'd need a bit of time to get used to.
 
It is a case of horses for courses. I am a PC man have been for nearly 40 years ever since Wordstar 1 and Ashton Tate DB4. I did use a Mac for part of my work that demanded a lot of graphics and I put Windows to shame at the time. Now there is not much difference. I agree that it is what you feel most comfortable with. If you have been using a PC for a few years you will find relearning things a bit of a bind. I have many colleagues who succumbed to switching to a Mac and regretted it until it was time for a replacement and went back to a PC.

Think long and hard, ask yourself WHY it is you want to switch, then do your research by reading where there is no hidden agenda and come to you own conclusion. Whatever you decide is the right answer.

Be yourself every one else is taken.
 
Mac has changed the game with their M1 processor. Even mac haters are using macs these days ;)

Get a m1 mac pro, you won’t regret it.

and how about installing window-based only apps?
or more simply muscle memory of where things are from being a pre-dominate windows user?
It's no different than switching from android phones to apple
It's not difficult, but you are just not comfortable for awhile.

If you have apps that only work under Windows and there are no equivalent or replacement for a Mac, than yes. But if you know that, you wouldn't even ask if you should use Windows or Mac, you'd use what you have to use as you wont have a choice ;) For everything else, you can find a replacement/alternative

I used Windows only for years before switching to Mac entirely, it wasn't such a big deal to me. Now some people just cant get used to it, but that goes both ways - Win to Mac and Mac to Win, this is subjective and individual ;)

True, I agree. I did both - from android to iPhone and Windows to Mac. Do I regret that I was uncomfortable for a few days (week) until I got used to it? Oh, HELL NO. :)

As I said, it's subjective and individual and there are many variables in this "tough time" that you initially mentioned. Heck, some people would get the hang of it in a day. ;)

I like Macs more now, but you essentially have to buy Apple Care+ if you get one. The screen replacement costs are way more than most other laptops. It's like 50% of the cost of buying a new one(Macbook Air base model) to replace the screen, even if you are doing it yourself.
 
Windows. Just get a MSI w Windows. The relationship of price and quality is awsome.
 
M1 Mac, they are fast and keep their value much better than PCs
 
Just as others have recommended you go with what you've been used to, I would say it is very important.

I picked up a small laptop I'm using temporarily as I am changing the one I used. Just because of a lack of number keypad and some other standalone keys that were present on my previous laptop. My productivity especially with respect to writing and editing content has been affected, I have to gradually adjust.

Imagine when it's an entirely new/different operating system.
 
I agree with what everyone is saying about mac. I switched to MacBook and other then learning the new os it is by far the most reliable machine I’ve ever owned. The life time of a MacBook is far greater then any pc I’ve ever owned
