Mac or Windows laptop which one is better?

I have one of the new silicon MacBooks and it is incredibly fast and the battery lasts all day.

But they are overkill for office work. You'll never use the power they offer.

Its all about OS not about hardware, think about which OS you know the best, shortcuts, keyboard shortcuts, management and stuff + think of the programs you are using daily. I've been using windows for ~20 years and then tried to run on Macbook - it was really nice looking OS, cool design, expensive feeling and it ended up like 50% dropping my productivity, all damn buttons on the wrong side, each time i wanted to click X i need to click it on the left not on the right + some colors and small buttons + no shortcuts are working no ctrl+c/ctrl+v, no button to quick show desktop, file system completely different, cant find my files and stuff - it was total mess, spent 1 week with very low productivity "learning" to use new OS and sold my macbook pro, bought lenovo got windows and working again full power.. If you will spent 2 weeks of customizing and learning new OS then no matter of the "SPEED OF LAPTOP" since you lost so much time that speed of laptop now doesnt matter anymore

A Windows laptop can be as fast as a Macbook and vise versa. It depends on your OS preferences, in my case i enjoy coding stand alone applications on my Windows laptop which I can run without any "certifications" which is pretty hard to run on Macbook since they are more secure.

Choose what you feel familiar with, in the end they are both used and capable of doing the same things :)

Linux > Mac OS > Windows
To be honest, nowadays they're all good operating systems/ platforms and there's only a matter of preferences/ needs nowadays.
If you're not used to working on Linux or Mac, just stick to Windows...your life will be easier :)

MacBook. Even if it’s just an M1 air. I work on one all day. I also have Mac mini and two nice monitors I use for work. I can’t say enough good things about Mac. Best decision I ever made.

I rent a windows vps to use SEO software and other IM related software that are still archaically coded for windows only (most developers make windows and Mac apps now or is cloud based software). That’s what you’re supposed to do anyway.

I’ll never look back at a windows laptop, personally.

Mac with M1. The Macbook Air with M1 is incredibly good for its price.
I second this. Additionally, Mac Mini M1 is also spectacular. Both - fast, quiet, cold and reliable

Go with whatever you are more comfortable using and know your way around, is my advice.
I use a lot of windows based tools and it'd be too much hassle trying to set up emulators etc, so I run Windows.

I use OS Windows - comfortable.
I wanna learn Mac - That's going to take some getting used to
