Hello there,
I have a blog in the Linux niche (desktop). Currently between 200-300 clicks/day. I am thinking of selling this blog but I am confused about the price, here are more details:
Ezoic Earnings: $30/month
Amazon affiliate earnings (US): $10/month
Traffic: Mostly from India> US > UK > Other countries
Last 16 months: 54k clicks - 1.39M impressions
Analytics: Only Ezoic analytics I do not use GA
Posts published: 66
Words published: 70k+
Site age: One year (actually 2 but I changed domain last year so rankings reset..)
Average EPMV: $3-$5
Domain: 2 words keyword domain
What do you guys think, how much should I sell this blog for I started it just as a hobby but now no longer wants to work on it.
Also where should I sell it for best price and no scam?

You could sell it between $800 to $1200.
Fiverr, motioninvest.

Wait I can list and sell a website on fiverr? Motioninvest rejected me, said they need GA data.

I would say around $500-600 will sell promptly, start a little higher and go down periodically until you can sell it.
Have you tried Flippa?

There was a "rule": at least 30X monthly income, but I sold sites even with 150X, so it's really about the potential buyer. Keeping in mind the 30X rule, you should get around $1200 - $1500. The domain name (two words) is very important in this context, and it can increase the value of the site.

No I have not tried flippa

No I have not tried flippa
There are also some fb groups (idk if I can mention them here). Just pay attention to the transaction details and don't get scammed (yeah, there are a ton of scammers around the world..)

If you wanna sell it fast, anywhere between 12-24x the monthly income is where you should price point it.

Write down a plan for the purchaser to keep on track with the current profit structure. Anything beyond that is on them.

How does one make sure we are not being scammed when selling a website on FB groups
Have you used Flippa? I'd like to sell mine I just haven't got time to work on it anymore

you can sell it for $1000 I guess

Scammers are very creative, so you have to pay attention to (but not limited) the red flags:
  1. Offer is incredible higher than usual (not 100% red flag - maybe the buyer really wants your website, but generally speaking it's a red flag).
  2. He propose to transfer the domain name & other assets first, and to send the money later (.).
  3. He propose to use PayPal, without F&F, and do not accept an escrow service.
  4. ...have a bad reputation, or a faked identity.
  5. ...trying to speed-up things and offer you money through unknown/shady methods (eg: pose as a very busy entrepreneur who wants to pay you through crypto, on known scam crypto sites).

There are other red flags, but the ones mentioned above are most common. As a general rule, don't provide the auth code for the domain transfer before you get the money (or the money have been deposited in a safe place, like escrow). Don't transfer valuable social media accounts, or any other assets.

Scammers are everywhere: on FB, on Flippa, and so on. The seller must do his due diligence.

Cheers!

No more than 500$

Seems to me sites go for what you earn in a year or two. Assuming the site has history.

Thanks, that's some great advice much appreciated
I thought Flippa was the intermediates so they hold the money and the website or maybe that's not how that site works

It's tough to know who to trust as it works both ways, if I was buying a website I'd be twitchy on sending the money say through Paypal FF and then being left with nothing ie the seller goes ghost

Lots to think about though

cheers

In any business is a risk, and Flippa isn't out of this rule (just search on G "Flippa scams" or whatever, and you'll find examples). What I mentioned above are general examples. As I said, scammers are very creative, so what, at the 1st impression, looks like a honest entrepreneur, could be in fact a scammer. Ofc, there is no reason to become paranoid, but you have to pay attention to your deals. Even when you flip a house, a car, a phone, etc, you have to pay attention to the details. That's all.
