STEP 2 – Brand your website​

Based on posts I have read, both in this thread and throughout the forum, some people seem to be looking for a process that they can post any article, surround it with ads and there is a secret way, that they have not been told, so that they can magically drive dirt cheap traffic to it and they will always make a profit.

To profit like that there is no shortcut or one thing you need to do, but a process - these 7 steps - that you need to follow in their entirety. Branding is the second step of that process.

Your site needs to look professional. We are building a brand, so you should always buy a .com and have a professional looking logo.

Whether you are going to use Adsense or not, always structure your site as if you are applying for it. So have:

Contact Us
Disclaimer
Privacy Policy
Any other legals
And I suggest 20 articles of 750-1000 words written well and professionally
Install Google Analytics.

That is what advertisers expect to see and adds to your credibility and if I was you I would apply for Adsense. If they reject you so most likely will other major advertisers.

That is just the setup to give your site credibility. You will not make money from just doing that.

It is important that you understand how you make money.

There is money making content and brand building content.

The function of Brand Building content is collect data on your visitors NOT make all your money.

With Brand Building content, your overall aim should be to make back cost, ideally a little bit more and collect that data for later use for your money making articles.

From his comment, that is what I suspect @TiagoS is doing. Trying to make his money from Brand Building content, rather than Money Making content. Something like cost + 20% with Brand Building is actually really good. But, the only way to make $1000 profit would be to indeed spend $5000 on traffic. That is one way of doing it but you need ridiculously deep pockets.

Instead it is better to separate your brand Building content from your Money Making content.

Collect their details on the front end with Brand Building content, then re-market to them on the back end over and over with Money Making content for next to nothing and that way your Money Making content will ALWAYS be in profit.

That is all for STEP 2. But in the subsequent sections I will explain the most profitable content for both Brand Building and Money Making and how you make that ad profit.

Well, I fail to understand your concept. Yes, I’ll buy traffic to my quizzes. They have 40+ pages and the average user will visit 30 pages per session, and each page has 5+ ads. Still, AD cpm is terrible, most of the times unable to profit. My goal is to make a profit from that visit, because the user will never go back to my site.

I already tried this concept of remarketing the user, but unless I’m doing something totally wrong, it’s pure Fairy tale. Collecting emails sound good in theory, but open rates are terrible, and the user don’t really wanna know from you anymore most of the times. Even if you had a very good open rate, I fail to see how you would turn them into profit down the line.
95% will not even open one email, so most of the audience we captured would be down the drain already. The other 5% will maybe open the email? And from that 5% Let’s say that 1% click and go to another quiz of ours? But that still won’t make any difference.

As i explained in a previous post your trying to monetise what is essentially brand building content. Rather than building a brand and monetising through money making content. Of course nobody will return your way, because you add no value.

Your way you will do well to make 20% profit. So, as i also said, for your model to make $1000 profit you will need to spend $5000 on those numbers.

I dont use that model, i use the 7 step model i am explaining in this thread.

STEP 3 – Search for viral content in your niche​

Your ultimate aim should be to deliver niche relevant VIRAL content through your magazine.

Why? Simply because that is the sort of content that your reader base is likely to want more of and so subscribe to.

If you don't deliver that, then they are unlikely to come back to read more of your content and you are in a perpetual loop of buying traffic that you can never re-market to and that is the least profitable business model.

First, it is important to understand that there are 2 types of viral content, evergreen and trend based.

Lets pick the nature niche as an example and sub-niche the environment.

Evergreen niche relevant viral content might be an article about the effects of meat on the environment.
Evergreen = you can always come back to it next year.

Trend based niche relevant viral content might be an article about something Greta Thunberg said today.
Trend = nobody cares what Greta said today next year!

For your first 20 articles or so on your site, pick evergreen, otherwise you will not be able to go back and monetise later.

Once monetised you can also work with trend based viral content, ride the wave and make your money fast.

So, how do you find niche relevant content that can go viral?

Ideally pick a niche you are passionate about, you will find it a lot easier and will know the best places to get the latest info. Alternatively you will need to immerse yourself in the subject, go through Reddit, set up alerts etc. Or if you are a bit lazy you can subscribe to spy tools to help you find and curate new content quickly like Hootsuite or Anstrex if your traffic source is going to be Native or Push.

Then you go into Facebook ad manager, set up a demo ad and go through the targeting options relevant to the article you are thinking of writing. If the reach is over 100K you have the possibility to go viral, personally I go for a reach of 1m+. If the numbers are lower than that, don't bother writing it, as not enough people will be interested in reading it for it to be worth the effort and you definitely will not be able to make $1000+ for the article.

REMEMBER: It is a complete waste of time publishing or even worse buying content that has not been researched so you know it has the possibility to go viral in your niche.

Next up STEP 4 – Rewrite the viral content as a feature article for your magazine site...

Really hope step 7 is not just buy FB ads, but you actually have a nice source for media buying

As i said to be successful, you need to have realistic expectations, balanced against self-awareness and blend that with time, skills and money.

I fear you have unrealistic expectations.

There is no secret traffic source that you seem to be waiting for that i use. I can give a few pointers, but i cannot make you a great writer. I have just written step 3 I explained how you can quickly check the likelihood of content going viral and you can pay for a service that collates it for you, I listed a couple, if you cannot / dont want to do it yourself.

What you use to help you implement the method are just skills or tools. Either you already have them or accept you will have to buy them.

Otherwise it is like thinking you dont need any skills you just have to buy the same boots Neymar wears and you will suddenly become a brilliant footballer like Neymar. Life is not like that, if you want Neymar in your team, you have to hire Neymar, just wearing his boots wont deliver the same results!

It is the 7 step process that is important and how you put it together as a business model to work for you that is. I am covering what you need to do and at the end i will summarise it.

An important part of that is understanding your own limitations and as such what you need to buy in and what you can do yourself. Same with any business method.

Understanding that and your own funding level will determine if this is a business method that will be successful for you or not. Then to scale and have a large successful business, you will find you do very little of the work yourself, you mostly just make the decisions.

brand your site. Right..i know a site that makes 600k /year
but that was in back 2015-2017 when facebook didn't f**k things with groups and pages...
now u can't earn sh*t from fb unless u pay money.
instagram maybe but hard for magazine
ads are issue
ppc are low, to earn 100$ u need 50000k ppl or 10000 T1
u will make money if u are here long time, but to fresh sites u need to invest s**t load of m

This is not a short-term get-rich-quick scheme, this is a long-term-plan-ahead method.
