Hi,

I found someone that will create a Grindr account creation bot for me. They said they want 3500 for the bot and 50% upfront. How should I validate that they won’t just take my money. That’s enough money that I wouldn’t be happy perse if I just lost it lol. Any advice? How would you do it? Assuming you are experienced and have done this in the past. Thanks!

I will add that they are a Jr VIP on this site. I’m talking to them on Skype though

How old is this user? Are they active on the forum?

I would not pay that kind of money to someone who is not an old memeber, and is not active on the forum.

Make that business deal via PM here for your safety.

Tell them to show you their leetcode account and solve a random problem in front of you live on zoom.

You can't be 100% sure.

But I must admit as the new one here who does coding,

have two projects to finish here, and probably I am done with BHW, well
probably not just need to change some of my services type and business
model as well.

9 of 10 users who got contacted me wanted free stuff.

Coding is expensive if you have a friend who will do it for free or
this is just 15 min. for you, or there are free scripts around, there are
cheap devs which do $hit afterwards or I could
buy some lifetime licenses for $100/$200.

They don't get the bigger picture of how many products are sold.

100% Positive Exp As Buyer here bought about 10 articles so far on BHW/ AS a seller Meh, Let's
say 9 of 10 cases were a waste of time.

But this is entirely my fault.

All of these 9 cases could have been avoided if

#1 I did a background check and
#2 asked for a non-refundable low fee
for a consultation.

So need to alter a business model a little bit.

I probably would have done as the authors wrote above. We should check them and only then transfer the money. It is better not to pay right away.

Just an update, I didn't immediately buy the services from the coder but did some back ground checking to see what I could find on them and so far they seem legit. I am not in absolute need of the code they would write so I don't need to pull the trigger yet. It is good to know I can use this website in order to check if coders are legit or not. I'm loving this site more and more and it's great to see so many active people on here. I'll keep you all updated on how things go. Especially for those of you finding this post with the same question.

As bot developer I do my business like asking always for 50% upfront, but not right away. First I can show some of previous works via screenshare and make some start with bot, show how I would create it, work on this... I make plan, some drafts to show you (client) how I mean to make it, than client can add/change some things etc.
I suggest to you to first ask programmer to make you plan/strategy etc, he wont waste lot of time and it would help you build trust

EDIT:
Also showing some of his previous works THAT works can be also great trust gainer.

I am speaking all this from my experience as developer, as I do not ask immediately for upfront.

$3,500, damn. I need to step up my prices on upwork, and stop falling for their cheap excuses.

OP, just tell him to work through upwork. I'm 99% sure he has an account there.

If he's legit, he won't turn $3,500 down just because he doesn't feel like doing it through the platform.

You will have to come to an arrangement regarding fees, but at least you won't get scammed.4

L.E. Allow me again to say "DAMN, $3,500 for a grinder bot". I must be living in 2004.

This is option too, best option actually. Safety for both parties
