Rank Math completely destroyed my site..

You can only blame the tools if they go against the settings/configuration. If you did wrong configuration, then it's your mistake. It's like blaming the seller of a knife for the crime committed using it.
No it's not.
I installed the plugin and it automatically changed crucial settings on my site. Why don't they leave the tags alone and let us users decide if we want them indexed or not??

But you can decide if you want them indexed or not by turning the no index to index in the settings?

Haven't you installed DeRankMath accidentally?

Maybe it would be a good idea to configure the plugin after you installed it? You could easily turn off the no-index tag in settings.

I have been using Rank Math for more than 6 months and have no issues with Google indexing. Maybe you configured it wrong somewhere.

Blaming RankMath for your own mistake?

Sounds like user error in not configuring the plugin.
I also think the issue was a lack of configuration or proper settings when installing the plugin.

We can debate whether or not the default settings offered by RankMath are "appropriate" or not in comparison to other tools and what most SEO experts consider "best practice" nowadays but blaming an SEO plugin with over 1+ million active installations, and close to 4k 5-star ratings it´s nonsense.

Personally, I am a huge fan of RankMath and I believe it´s the best all-in-one SEO tool in the market.

I´ve heard many great things about SEO Framework and have been wanting to test it out but, one thing is for sure, I am NOT a big fan of Yoast nor AIOSEO.

SEO plugins are not plug & play add-ons. You need to configure after installation and then check them weekly or monthly. I check the redirects & errors on a monthly basis to see if anything is wrong. If they make tags do-follow, then some people complain that they don't need tags pages and RankMath destroyed their site. After migrating my first site from blogspot to wordpress, I've spent a week configuring Yoast plugin. These things take time and the configuration is necessary for SEO.

I had a similar experience with Yoast, i moved on to The SEO Framework and never looked back; it provides exactly what i need, meta description/title length and sitemap. No bloated trash.

+1 for The SEO Framework
It is so simple, easy and straightforward plugin. I love it so much that its simplicity made me ditch Yoast, AIO and Rankmath completely on our clients website, even on our agency website. You definitely won't go wrong.

And The SEO Framework doesn't require you to sign up for an account unlike Yoast bugging you at the very beginning. Imagine you are managing 50 websites, Yoast would be a pain in the ass.

Isn't it common practice to deindex tag pages nowadays, because these are considered duplicate content? When installing a plugin you should also make sure that all your settings are correct.

"I destroyed my site by not checking Rank Math's settings - learn from my mistake!"

Fixed your post's title.

Over a year later... not using RankMath nor Yoast, been getting 6 million+ impressions from Google search/month... Do you need RankMath or Yoast on your wordpress site? NO. case closed. ‍⚖️

Firstly I wanna said Google index can be happen with many issues not only rank math. but as you specific about Rank math Then I want to say you to closely check your Index tag and uninstall the pluggin and instant and setup with freshly. Also delete the existing file from hosting file manager.

I never liked using SEO plugins for my wordpress sites because I've been extremely successful without them (and you'll find out why). About 6+ years ago I installed Yoast on my site and it destroyed my rankings, can't remember exact specifics but I uninstalled and never used it again, event single handedly begun my dislike for these plugins.. site eventually recovered and that was that.

Now, 2 months ago I needed more control over meta descriptions on Google, theme was displaying a mess for most articles, after some research, decided to install Rank Math, and low and behold, after just a week, my traffic was cut in half(literally). No idea why, but had a feeling these demonic plugins were the culprit.. A month later(mid Dec) I noticed that Rank Trash by default, adds a no index to your tag pages, I didn't notice this change for about a week until I checked Google Search Console's "Coverage" tab. I had 1000+ tag pages and they were all no indexed from Google search.. wtf. Fast forward... It's been 2 months now and Google still hasn't indexed my 1000+ tag pages and my traffic has dropped about 70% ever since installing Rank Trash.. monthly $ earnings dropped by the same amount..

Now, I did re-index all tag pages, and uninstalled Rank Trash but seems Google it's taking its sweet time to re-index my pages.

ravaged..
so sorry dude, i have never used Rank Math Seo though, can you drop here, i want to test how it look compared to Yoast SEO, thanks
