URGENT 25K SHOPIFY BILL from VISA

That's not the issue - some lawyer or a copyright infringements takedown team saw your Shopify store and some trademarks (I think) and just noted your website. They report those websites in batches to VISA / Shopify, which just redirects everything to you, since you agreed with their Terms of Service. Had you any brand names on the art?
it hasn't been activated it for a year i turned it on for a week to look at it and then shut it down again one day later i got that fine.

Is this coz of Copyrights issue?
Im guessing so but there are loads of massive successful businesses doing the same thing on shopify accepting visa, thats who i copied.

Recently Shopify is getting shit. It's better to move some other patfome.

If i was to migrate my store away from shopify whats the most business friendly platform where i won't receive rape fines and high exposure to these sort of infringements. i dropship replica hip hop fashion clothing, which i guess could get one of these fines, i do it on a low level about 20k revenue a month. I dont want to be under threat of having my business frozen. only have to deal with payment gateways.
The problem is and will be the payment gateway. Making a shop yourself is not too difficult if you use something like woocommerce or magento. Just the default installation on a vps should do fine. Problem is… how would you receive payment? I don’t know of any payment processor that accepts these kind of businesses.

OP which country are you from?
If it's some 3rd world country, just ignore it. If 1st world, get some legit legal advice.

Go back to sleep and let them talk alone, honestly, I wouldn't worry about it

Im in the UK. They coming after me over a store that isn't even open anymore that didn't even make 1K

Is it from Shopify payments or were you using another merchant?
Its a from visa no compliance via shopify payments. No one on here seems to have any experience with them

Yes information on this would be helpful, The account is registered as a business so surely im personally protected if they came after me. i have transferred ownership of my 6 figure store away from the store and account with the fine so hopefully preventing action being taken out on that. Visa just a joke cant process ali express payments then come after me for drop shipping stuff of that..

Seek legal advice.

I'm not sure which country you're in or from but get professional legal advice.

You cannot go to jail for civil issues like this, until it has gone through court, then it is usually for non payment or trying to hide assets.

Saying you have since transferred the other businesses means nothing, they'll come after you for the money owed and they will be able to track that you have given these to your wife, aunt or cat.
Even selling the business for $10 won't cut it with a judge, if it's worth $100k.

What were you selling to infringe copyright? Also what domain is it sent from? Whats their email?

Are you a Ltd Company formation?

It was a copy of this business: activation.co.uk so canvases
activation.co.uk - check if they're trademarked etc... I never heard of this so see whats up. And if you're getting fined. It's not VISA that issues the fines. It should be the copyright company they signed up with. I don't think visa does that. IMO.

They have no trademarks they just sell similar products i was. im not sure if this is something to genuinely worry about or just scare me from doing a similar store. no one seems to know what a VISA non compliance charge is.

I've ran successful 6 figure drop shipping stores on shopify but never seen this is there another platform you'd recommend.
WooCommerce so you only need to bother with the payment gateway, Shopify makes setting shop easier but at the end they host your content, if there is something they don't like even if it's not illegal then you're at their mercy.

Upon a 2 min Google search I was able to find the rules and fines regarding the violation. Looks legit, apparently you have 30 days to fix it or the fine will double up, and it will keep doubling up each month until it's fixed/paid.
