Why I Hate Internet Explorer

I just updated to Internet Explorer 8, then checked out one of my sites and realised that every affiliate banner link that had target="_blank" didn't work when clicked.

The thing is, I always add target="_blank" to affiliate links to open up a new browser window instead of closing my web page down.

As soon as I removed it the links worked fine, but opened in the same window unfortunately.

I was banging my head all day trying to figure out why the image links didn't work in IE8.

Well, it seems that the powers-that-be think it's a good idea if the visitor decided whether or not he wanted to open a new browser window when clicking on an external link. IE8 seems to follow this rule and ignore target="_blank" which is probably why all my image links don't work in that browser.

Firefox is fine though, which is why I never noticed the problem before.

I will now have to check all my sites and change the links because of this.

This must have cost me some affiliate sales because the damn links didn't work for IE8 users.

Internet Explorer is pain in the ass and the pocket.

Firefox w/ addons! = Most secure, Best to use for BHW, Surfing..

Chrome = Best when visiting safe websites ..espn,cnn, etc

Internet Explorer = Wish I could completely uninstall this off my PC!

IE sucks, ill never use it again, mine crashes every 3-10mins lol
but i could care more. I only touch firefox.

We all know that IE sucks but the rest of the world who are viewing our sites
don't which will cost us revenue if we don't check our sites for compatibility.

I forgot to mention that I always use Firefox anyway but I still have to check sites out in other browsers which is when I discovered the problem.

Are you kidding? Some of my sites get over 65% of visitors via IE and usually at least 45% so it's still the most popular browser by a long way. That's what makes it so bad when it screws up my websites. It costs me money when things don't work right.
