Is there a chance to revive a tanked site?

i created similar thread "how to get back rankings for a tanked site"

but now it is more interesting question for me - anyone revived such site? or if Google decided not to like it anymore - it is totally doomed despite all our efforts?


it is slowly losing impressions and i feel like it will be totally dead till New Year

my plan is to add shit load of content, it has only 10 articles, probably here is the issue

Before you add a shit load of content, consider that sites tend to slowly drop off if you don't update the existing content regularly and continue building links. Could also be that search trends are changing. Happy to take a look at your site if you want.

there were 2 updates - 1 in May 2020 - clicks dropped from 250 daily to 150 daily

and then, on Dec 4 2020 they dropped to 25 clicks.

Last days unfortunately it gets 15 clicks.

The trend is clear, i think.

Of course it's going to tank, 10 articles is nothing and it's been almost two years?

Pump those numbers up, you did a great job with only 10 articles, with fresh content that ranks and more internal linking you'll be back.

Yes, fresh domain - website 100% copy of old. 301 and confirm change of address in GSC.

Sites successfully recovering after this:
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/anyone-site-only-4-results-indexed-penalty-now.1318746/But if you leave on fresh domain reasons of old domain penalty - fresh domain will be tanked again after weeks or months.

Did you do something with the website or just watch how it goes down?

What would I do in such a situation?

• Move affiliate products from the 1st screen a little down.
• Made link for different stores/affiliate programs, not just 1.
• Rewrite current articles or improve them with additional info
• Made a good About page with storytelling and social profiles links.
• Made more images, video, structure, info for hub/homepage.
• Add Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Advertising Disclousure pages.
• Add a few relevant and quite strong links.

If you didn't do anything sneaky and get penalized, then you should be able to get the site back up there with some work.

10 post is lot of , just 5 post for 1 day

It is not tanked, is most likely you lost some rankings because of "inactivity". Just 10 articles, that is too less to even consider a google penalty.
If i were you, i would do this:
- Get around 100 more articles posted with all the on-page seo done
- Get some 10-20 niche edits
- Wait 3 months
- Enjoy

The May 2020 update affected lots of local businesses because of the early pandemic habit changes (location signals). Do you rely on location by any chance? Local business or something?

Tbh it doesn't look like it was "tanked", but yeah, there are quite a few ways to revive domains: transferring to a new registrar, changing NS records etc. However, in this particular case you might wanna try ramping up activity on your domain first.

How do you expect a site with 10 Articles to get you any kind of Traffic? Most likely in the last 2 years people published the exact articles but better or longer. If you do not stay in the game you can not expect google to shower you with views. It does not matter at all if you get a new domain or write more content there. Maybe get to at least 100 Articles you will see more success
