Anyone has similar issues recently? Website index good at first, but gradually dropped, finally when you site: on Google, only 4 page indexed, this is a known penalty if I am right, but not much talks online.

Anyone else? What have you found?

No idea, but we are explicitly talking about site: 4 penalty, so if you are same as this, you got a hit, but if not, maybe its just a dance?
I don't know, but Google indexing my category page/homepage instead my posts.

quality issue - you publish too many? or low-quality content -- as well as internal duplication possible.

I have one. New site on an expired domain. published 30 articles and still only 4 after 2 months. Cache is updating though. No traffics, of course.

It happened to me once, a spam plugin was blocking google bot crawlers

Did you add to search console and sent URL's?

Same here, in 3 months legit website never got indexed, sometimes it happens I guess it's quite random. If you really care about a website getting crawled, just add search console or send some link/social share, if the content is good it will be indexed in 1 week at most

Are you sure it's a penalty? You said you did not receive anything on GSC
I don't remember anymore, I think it was cleantalk, once I removed it and googlebot could read my pages they got slowly indexed again

If you clone your site and do 301 redirect of all your pages to your new site + validate the migration in webmaster tools, so you can bypass the penalty. It's a really random solution, it works 50% of time.

I success to recover few of my websites like that but it's exhausting to do, if it fails then you have to repeat the process until it works, for example I have two websites that I have cloned 5 times until it works finally and it stables for 8 months now and I recover all my traffic.

Sometimes the cloning work the first time, sometimes never, sometimes you have repeat 5 X it's crazy o_O if someone have a better solution I take it lol

God, this making me wanna give up now lol, wtf

Btw, I assume you mean established domains right? I mean, many of mine got hit very fast even before I have any traffic to them, maybe you are using expired domain? Since a new fresh domain you have to give some months to see some traffic, that means you have to wait to see if it works or not, this process is really time consuming if move move move like this.

If an established domain like in your case, you can quick 301 to see if it get recovered or not, but for a fresh domain, its really pain in the ass. I don't even wanna try move contents now, because I have to wait several months to see if new domain can rank or not, fxxk.

No issues overall for indexing new pages or posts in general for any of my sites. Last year when Google done the slowing down of indexing I set up a mini way to make links index faster than before ever since I did that and learned more SEO things my index rates stayed pretty high or decent normally I only occasionally run into a index issue

No I use fresh domain because I don't want to risk the penalty on a good expired domain. It's too risky.
Yes it's time consuming but you will see it pretty fast if you are hit again or not, in two or three weeks after the cloning, the penaly will come again and you have to move again. And sometimes you bypass it of course when you are lucky enough  But yes this penalty is really really horrible, since the end 2019 doing SEO became pain in the ass because of this

Yes I also found that around the same time period, this penalty became very frequent after that and killed my churn and burn methods.

Thank you so much for sharing tips mate, so I guess I have to move contents to a new domain to try my luck lol.
