CongratsGuys,
I bought my first MacBook today.
I have always been a Windows and Android user. But just started to move to Apple world.
First I got my first iPhone couple months ago. I really got hooked with it. I don't know why but Apple Ecosystem is really addictive.
I will get my first iPad next month
BTW, It's MacBook Pro M1.
Super smooth, super fast.
Got any tip for new Mac fellow?
Edit:
Things are a little weird right now.
- I can't find my close button. I just keep clicking on the corner.
- I can't find any drives, I am used to it.
- I can't find the refresh option.
- Installling software is a piece of cake.
- Spotlight search is a beast.
If you think Spotlight is a beast, you'd LOVE Alfred. It does so many more things than Spotlight - automating tasks, having clipboard history, google/bing/amazon/etc things right from your desktop, open/close/find files, etc etc. There are endless ways to use it to improve your workflow.- Spotlight search is a beast.
Oh dear lord, a million blessings to you for suggesting BetterSnapTool... I got it immediately. Thanks a lot again.Congrats
Do these things, you will thank me later...
1) Disable natural scrolling.
2) Buy this software called BetterSnapTool (costs peanuts... but it will quadruple your productivity).
3) Map Option key to Command, and Command key to Option (Modifier Keys from system preferences).
As for the close buttons, yes it will take time to get used to seeing in on the left side lol.
As for drives, it is more linux like than windows... so, get used to that file structure. By the way, finder is the "file explorer".
Also, get used to the shortcuts, it will save you lots of time.![]()
I just got it. A ton of blessings to you as well buddy. You just showed me another world in my Mac. Thanks a lot.If you think Spotlight is a beast, you'd LOVE Alfred. PS: I do believe that Apple will eventually improve Spotlight to do everything that Alfred does, but until then - Alfred would be my personal choice.

Good golly miss molly! I know someone that just switched FROM mac, so basically, they still have the same amount of customers as a month ago!
Depends on what you will do with it. Programming? Articles?Guys, please suggest me more productivity tools to make my life easier please...![]()
I am a novelty chaser, so I would just buy it to sleep with it or something.I also bought my first MacBook 2 weeks ago, I had to sell it, can't get used to macOS lol
On the contrary, I have been using android since gingerbread. I switched to iPhone recently. This is the first time I really am pleased with a smartphone. Specially because it works with the mac pretty well, like one single device. Will never go back to android again. Iphones have exactly what i need, as well as the privacy i need.I have been addicted to Macbooks since the very 1st aluminum unibody release back in 2006.
However, I just can't stand the iPhone! I just feel Android is both pleasant to use and offers greater flexibility over iOS.
I'm sorry for your loss.Guys,
