Guys,
I bought my first MacBook today.
I have always been a Windows and Android user. But just started to move to Apple world.
First I got my first iPhone couple months ago. I really got hooked with it. I don't know why but Apple Ecosystem is really addictive.
I will get my first iPad next month :)

BTW, It's MacBook Pro M1.

Super smooth, super fast.

Got any tip for new Mac fellow? :)

Edit:

Things are a little weird right now.

- I can't find my close button. I just keep clicking on the corner.
- I can't find any drives, I am used to it.
- I can't find the refresh option.
- Installling software is a piece of cake.
- Spotlight search is a beast.

I need to upgrade, but having a Mac as my work laptop has been so much nicer than my old windows. Having other apple devices is a bonus too as it can all be interconnected. Command + R is refresh on Mac, there are a few shortcuts like that that take a bit of getting used to.

I looked up it yesterday as I went back to my consumption.

The chip is something that draws my attention.

I was curious if it's worth $1500. Probably not, but it's a cool toy for adults.

Will be on my buying list next year.

I am tech savvy, so I can easily find excuse to spend money on it...

me in 2018 : android all the way!
Me 2021 : iphone, macbook pro, ipad pro, apple watch, apple tv, airpods pro i also got hooked up to apple fast

When it comes to consumption, there are few things that are "better alternatives".
The apple design sounds like "the better alternative". So I think that's the reason.
Some guys say Linux + ThinkPad is the killer combo. But I don't trust anyone sitting on /r/sysadmin...

For sure it has to offer better aesthetics. Even their website is designer-like.
I think having a MacBook would motivate me to clean my house more often cause I would like to keep everything visible and free of dust.
Interesting reason to spend $1500.

Today I was thinking of the best setup for botting.
I came up with it. 12 cheap off-lease Lenovo computers with SSD. $200 each.
And me in the centre working on macBook.

The price of these computers would be around the price of M1 MacBook.

I've got the M1 air loaded with 512GB and 16GB RAM. I could use almost 3 days on battery with light surfing.
it's really worth the price and comes in handy if you are the type that travels a lot.

That's like saying you traded-in your performance machine for an egg with wheels and a go-cart engine. :o

I thought the same after watching 2 videos about this "new" system.
It still sucks. Damn. I guess 98% macbook purchases are impulsive ones...

Or maybe I'm wrong and is the system finally able to give me the comfort of the mouse with the shiny touchpad? I have always dreamed of it! It never came true...

The retina display is great for travelers who watch a lot of movies. How does it even compare to something with NVidia Quadro in terms of rendering? I have no questions.
No serious businessman will be happy with it! All businessmen I knew went with workstations instead of this.

Don't fool me with some ML gimmicks... I'm well aware how bad it will perform when it comes to actually working with ML... I can get 64 gigs of RAM for the price...

better touch tool, its like windows drag against the side to maximize a window.. cause those diff desktops in mac are shit

I had the MacBook Air for 7 years I finally upgraded to MacBook Pro M1 4 days ago. I’m loving the experience battery life is impressive as promised by Apple :)

Welcome to the club! I'm always with Macbook Air due to its size and lighter weight. This beast is really fast for a zillion multitasking.

Enjoy printing money with your new Mac!

Got Asus Zenbook 13 recently and loving it but my next lappy with surely be a Macbook in another 5-7 years time

I am using Macbook Pro for almost 3 years now and have been very happy with it. I use it mostly for development and it is pretty snappy. I have tried to use iPhone but didn't liked it, I feel Android is much faster.

One small tip: Get that Applecare for extended warranty, it is worth it in case you need repairs. Their repair prices are quite steep.
