Sites Only Supporting FB/Google Signup

I'm seeing an increasing number of sites only accepting "sign up with google/FB". A recent casualty is the website "about.me". Is it just me or are more and more mainstream sites restricting their account signups to be pre-validated by existing Google/FB accounts?

Yes lately, it easy to use Google/Fb to avoid spam accounts.

It normal just paranoid owners.

Nearly the whole internet industry using other networks to sign up on their own websites.

You can get plugins on WordPress free as well.

Won't stop spam accounts as the person can just open account FB/google in their name press sign up.

It's a trust issue but not going to kill spam accounts.

It is also very old know to use anything part from own signup.

1 to 1 video verification killing account spam .

Yeah, that's true. I don't like having to deal with Google/FB accounts, especially at scale. FB/Google signup and HCaptcha are really annoying to deal with atm.
