Hi, I was getting over 3.5% engagement rate two years ago and now I get 1.2%. I am in the travel nitch. Does anyone know how to boost your engagement rate on Instagram.

There are plenty of ways to boost engagement - post reels more often. Use the carousel posts.
Collab with other creators. Run a competition in the comments.

Use 'magic' hacks text posts encouraging people to like/comment on the posts.

Depending on the niche you're in, there are plenty of ways you can boost your engagement.

Did it decrease at a gradual pace or very suddenly? Did you experience a lot of growth over the years (the negative correlation between account growth and engagement rate is a well documented phenomenon)? Were there any notable changes in your content strategy (i.e. inconsistent posting for an extended period of time)?

There's tons of potential catalysts behind a drop in engagement but what the person above me has stated would definitely help getting your engagement back on track.

you need to view the statistics for this time and understand what the problem is. Perhaps you have the same type of posts(photo\text). These are the primary problems in Instagram accounts. Fix the problem , and then buy ads.

If you post good content the engagement will rise. My engagement is like 400-500 ish people seeing my post and close to 100 liking or commenting. I have a 3k follower account in the same niche(travel) as you.

You should find and use popular hashtags in your niche, of course there is a study for that as well.
