Hi,

I was hunting for a .com offer that's cheaper than the usual (porkbun, namesilo, namecheap, etc) and I stumbled upon a website called sav.com which offers .coms for $7. And while this is still not a price to brag about, for some reason I'd like to give them a try, but I'd like to know a few opinions about their service first.

Like for example, how transparent and honest are they, what marketing gimmicks (if any) will they pull on me after I purchase, etc. Basically, I want to know what - if anything - I should be aware of before becoming their customer.

Any opinions are highly appreciated. I mean, I'm NOT paying you for your intel, but I'll appreciate you deep in my thoughts and prayers :)

I would like to know also, as someone mentioned them on the forum already, just in one of these "Which domain register is the cheapest" nothing else I know about them either. But I would like to add them for diversity or take a note of them to avoid for the future.

Avoid them, while they are not scammers, their system is full of bugs and support is really slow
awesome! Thanks for the heads-up!

Do you also happen to know anything about cosmotown, as well? If not, no problem, I still appreciate your warning about Sav :)

yep, diversity is my main purpose, too, because otherwise I can just buy from Namesilo again. But I wanted to try other sources, too... just in case....

Never head of them. The ones i use or used are:
godaddy
namecheap
name
namesilo
dynadot
epik
sav ( buggy )
ovh
internet.bs
register
uniregistry
cloudflare
google domains
porkbun
gandi.net

I would rather stick with Namecheap if possible. Never heard of Sav but definitely want to know more about them.

thanks for the list. Some of these registrars I already knew about, the others I've never heard of.

One more question if I may: is there any registrar on this list that you don't recommend anymore? Just so I can stay away from it...

The only one that im having issue is sav but I'm using them for dropacatching, sometimes they have issue with changing nameservers and other small action but eventually fix the issue until the next one

yeah, I already made the decision not to use sav. Was curious about the others, but since you've not said anything bad about them I guess they're all good. Well, I'm not gonna use godaddy for sure, but the others I'm OK with.

Thanks again for the tips :)

Yea if you can you should always avoid them but with their auction, we are all stuck with them. I never renew a domain with them
