Favorite Domain Registrars & Why?

First, Namecheap! Really value for money and their support is awesome. My websites have been down and they always helped me quickly and all the way. Some of them even spent 1 hour+ live chatting with me to fix the issue and it was resolved successfully. They are the best. They even provide free backup restoration (yes, they have weekly and monthly backups, even if you didn't backup yourself). FREE! Never had an issue with downtime.

Second, Go Daddy. I know some will laugh at me for saying it but they are as good. I have another site hosted at Go Daddy and they too spent more than an hour with me to get it back up. The only downside is their plans can be overpriced. But never had an issue with any downtime too.

The worst? Hostgator, hostmonster, and all their related companies. My clients' websites are hosted with them due to promotional discounts and I had the worst nightmare asking them for support. When asked for a backup restoration, they said it will cost me. Or when they can't figure out the issue, they will just abruptly leave the conversation or hook me up with another rep. I always have to prepare a glass of wine when dealing with them.

One of my worse has been porkbun, I already lost 3 domains to them this year alone.

My is Godaddy ! Because i am Using their services many years now . & i never have any problem so far

Internet.bs

Support is always amazing since, polite and smart
Prices are normally cheap to semi cheap.

Namesilo very cheap support no idea since never contacted them since always works perfect .

+1 for Namecheap but Godaddy stay away because of all the horror stories the forum knows

well, waiting for the another story for another thread

What happened? So we can stop doing business with them.
At times, their website is a complete disaster alone to get into. (Not always, but not being available 24/7 or close to it is an issue imo)
When they do "promos" or "free domains" etc, their website constantly crashes (for me).
Or, takes forever to even get back inside.

I have constant trouble trying log in, it CONSTNATLY tell me my password is wrong.
No, it's not wrong, I copy pasted the password that I just reset 2 minutes ago cuz you told me it was wrong.
In fact, I don't even think I have logged in before using my password because it just deems it as wrong.
Or their freaking captcha keeps telling me I'm a god damn bot.
At times, these "Password reset" emails take over 12 hours to deliver to my email (both Outlook or gmail providers).
Luckily for me, I have stopped business with them a while back, and the domains I have lost are the "free" promos ones I got during Christmas.

Last time I tried to log in, since i needed to change NS for 1 domain

That's fine, whatever, let me reset my pw for the 213904123th time

Yeah, I already went to sleep by then

However, if I look over all this, they weren't a bad provider.

well, waiting for the another story for another thread

I would agree had same sort of issues as you with Porkbun for why I don't like using them much anymore.

What's your favorite domain registrar and why?

As always, complying with our Lounge Lord @TheVigilante, I shall start

Mine is Namecheap
Why?
It's simple easy to access and constant discounts, actually now I think about it, that's a bad thing.
I have way more domains than I can ever use cuz of the constant ongoing discounts... well whatever, anyways

Support is pretty fast and usually always very responsive, although, I personally have never ran into any troubles with them in the domain area.

No, don't ask about the hosting there, that's another story for another thread.
Yeah, namecheap for me too..

I am glad their supports works for you.
For me, it was a complete hassle, I remember when it was much simpler contacting them in the past. Now days, their live chat is hidden (for me) and even when calling, I have to wait forever to get someone who could barely speak English (I live in Australia, I dont expect perfect English support when I call their Australia line, but I expect someone who has a decent level at least to be taking calls) or they simply have zero idea what I was talking about, at worse sometimes both.

I moved every domain out of godaddy a few years ago :anyway:

However, I am still glad they work out for some people :p
I wouldn't think twice about moving if I had the same experience as you did.
