Hostinger is the worst hosting

Since you are on a VPS, you can install everything you want. Install the latest PHP version, latest nginx and then install whatever you need. Plenty of tutorials on the Internet.

Looks like they are flavour of the day today;

Most VPS hostings don't come with technical help, sure they come with customer support but not the one you expect, it is true it doesn't say anywhere its unamanged but from what i know, managed vps are quite expensive, you can't expect to pay 10$ for a vps have be hassle-free.
My advice: OVH VPS+Cyberpanel and you will be good to go, no need to play with your vps all day :)

Cheers

You’re right I should have noticed that it was unmanaged. But can you show me one known hosting provider that does not say whether the VPS is managed or unmanaged? I can’t remember not one.

Sure, just some well known ones:
Code:
https://www.a2hosting.com/vps-hosting/managed
https://www.inmotionhosting.com/managed-vps-hosting
https://www.knownhost.com/managed-vps.html

These are pretty well known, didn't use any of them though.

I think you may have misunderstood me. All three of these providers say whether you are purchasing managed or a unmanage VPS hosting which is my point. Hostinger does not use industry words.

I don't agree with you. They say is unmanaged.

And your not going to show me any reputable company that does not tell you that in bold, when advertising the server. Not at the bottom of the page. This company knows what they are doing and they probley sold a good amount making to seem like it’s managed.

Yeah, i misunderstood you.
Here is the example you want, do you see anywhere on their page "managed/ unmanaged?
us.ovhcloud.com/vps/compare/
I have an ovh vps and belive me, their support is very basic, if you don't know linux youre screwed.

Why not change your hosting provider so your problem will be solve.

Each company may have related issues with certain clients. But that does not mean that the company is bad overall or something like that.
Market is very competitive, so I assume that will not be an issue to find the alternative.
Good luck

For affordable shared hosting I prefer hostinger. I use it for all my sites and the customer service is also good for them. I haven't tried out their VPS though.

Thought they are a legit hosting provider and when did some research found out that they were no good

this is the comparable page for OVH https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/vps/ not the one you sent and your right it does not say anything about managed and unmanaged. Yet you missing my whole point if you read the Hostinger page it leads you to belive that there is support beyond the basic. You guys who know linux can say you have to learn it all day long. It’s not a valid excuse in this situation. When you don’t know you get managed.

I don’t think this is an a valid excuse either. If you provide a service then it is up to that business professional to describe the business services utilizing industry and Laymans term so your audience can understand what you’re offering. If the language on the website is misunderstood consistently which in this case we know that it has been, then that is a reflection of that business.

I was looking at your hosting yesterday. I think the only reason I did not buy it was the 1 year min payment.

I did change my hosting provider. I am with Amazon now.
That does not solve the problem because my yearly payment is gone and I have only been with the hosting account for 2 months.

I signed up with the company to host about 5 small wordpress website in the VPS service. it has been the worst hosting except Godaddy. I added the Plesk control panel and each time I would make a change (delete files) the whole server would crash. Not just the control panel the whole server. I compalied for over e month then took there advice to chnage the Contorl panel. But after i chnaged the control panel and started all over on website development I found out that the new control panel in there systems can’t support PHP 7.4. I changed to another control panel, same thing limitations on the PHP version you can use.

The support under their VPS service is nonexistent, If you can’t identify what the problem is and fix it yourself these people will not help you and will see that the VPS service does not come with support. Then when they say they will help they ask Asinine questions that are already included in the log files which they do not want to take anytime to look at. I have to read the log file to them. I am wording if this has been the expereace of other people with the company?
OP I know this is not what you're asking, but I have had some great experience with Lyra Hosting. If you ever need to switch, maybe you should check them out
