I've been on Reddit for a while and have two NFSW subreddits. One is 188k, while the other is 75k.I had challenges when I first started. So keep going.

Outdoors-
Pros: Everything is considered outdoors
Cons: Everyone in this niche are actually OUTDOORS and not on reddit.

I will prolly go back and forth a thousand times on how I want this journey to progress and that is ok! This whole journey is a "deep dive" into Reddit so I am in no hurry to make cash. There have been some things that have forced my hands though.

I just created new accounts a day or two ago. It will be 2 months (60 days) before I can use those accounts to start new subreddits. So for now, I have my personal main account that I can use to start new subreddits on. I don't want this account to get banned or have anything happen to it so I really have to play it safe with this account. This is the account I will open my first few subreddits on as well as the account that should have the most success with because it will be the oldest account that was able to do anything with.

I think I am going to open different subreddits. One will be "Outdoors" and one will be "Gaming". I will then spend the next 2 months growing these accounts using every safe techniques that I can to grow them. I think the "Outdoors" subreddit will be a long game scenario which I will build out a website and an entire brand around. The "Gaming" subreddit I will grow with the intent of pushing a Quiz site model and as many other monetization methods as I can. I wont do anything with these two subreddits (other than grow them) till I am close to being able to create more subreddits on my other accounts.

I am going to attempt to grow these subreddits by mostly crossposting. I will do some testing with /aww on crossposting but my plan is pretty simple. I will pick a very successful post from yesteryear and post it in my own subreddit (I will make a "Aww" niche subreddit for testing). I will then cross post it with one of my other accounts to /aww (or later to a niche subreddit) and hopefully I will see it explode some growth. I will further test this by expanding my cross posting to other subreddits with my other accounts. If everything goes well after a few tests, Ill start doing the same within my Outdoors and Gaming niche subreddits.

I honestly don't know if this works or not. There is very little info around on how to successfully do anything on Reddit. I did buy @thescrrr Book on Reddit so I am hoping to gleam some good knowledge from that. There are some posts here on BHW that give some insight but for the topic as a whole, no one really wants to talk about Reddit.

I do see some interest in creating a ton of accounts and using them for crossposting later. I want to make sure my subreddits are safe before I make a ton of accounts and burn out my IP by chance and lose my subreddits. I will need a ton of accounts for both niches just for crossposting, yet alone upvoting. I want to see some forward progress before I invest heavily into proxies and possibly into something like Jarvee to help on some of the automation behind this. I am also going to look into https://ifttt. com for some other types of possible automation. Eventually (especially with the Outdoor subreddit) I would like to branch out into IG and Facebook Group to build out the brand.

My next moves will be testing my crossposting methods and then building the actual beginning subreddits of this Journey. I will also have to work on the karma of my other accounts as well.

Hopefully I will have some results to pass along in the next few days.

According to reddit:

• Your account must be at least 30 days old.
• Your account must have a minimum (unknown) amount of positive karma. (The amount of karma required is known only to the reddit admins.)

Never had to wait for 60 days. and as for karma? 15-17 will suffice.

I seen it somewhere? I’m honestly not sure where I seen it now that you speak of it. That will help things for sure.

I haven't seen this anywhere. I have looked through a lot of reddit posts here and I don't recall this being shared anywhere. You can actually invite people to your subreddit. I have been using this when someone has commented on a crossposted content. This seems to be a big game changer for my niche as there isn't a ton of people on line at the same time to see my crossposts. I have been looking into subreddits in my niche but am coming up with road blocks. There isn't a ton of subreddits that allow crossposting at the surface level. I am going to have to do some "deep diving" on subreddits that allow cross posting.
I have filled the tags out and description for the subreddit and have done some customization on the subreddit. I am still working on getting together 500 posts for it. I am around 30 lol. It takes a longer than expected amount of time to gather 500 posts and make it look organic.

Community invites have many drawbacks. You can't send-community invites to many people(spammy behavior), you need to send community invites one by one which means you only need to send it to a selected people who will be interested to join your community or else all that work will be wasted. Even if you do this, the people joining will be much less that the no. of invite sent.

May I ask, apart from Cross-posting, how are you trying to gain more subscribers to your subreddits?

Even if you do this, the people joining will be much less that the no. of invite sent.

Just like any platform there is going to be a percentage of people who will accept. I don't think you would want to be doing this when you have 20k subs but when you are just starting out, every single sub matters. Its easy in the Adult niche to get massive amounts of subs in a quick time, but in this niche (outdoors) its a slower drive to get subs.

May I ask, apart from Cross-posting, how are you trying to gain more subscribers to your subreddits?

I am inviting people to my subreddit. Currently I have 16 members. It takes a lot of work starting out. That's why I wanted to publish 500 posts that have niche keywords in the posts so that Ill get organic followers from reddit when they search for my niche keywords or google for that matter. Cross posting is where you are generally going to get the most exposure onto your subreddit.

Just wanted to give a quick but rather pointless update.

I am still testing things out. I have made some good progress in learning the ins and outs of system that I want to implement but I haven't been able to do much the last couple of days.

I did find a chrome extension that let me Download an entire Instagram accounts posts as well as any web search that I wanted to do. This has become invaluable when trying to get content together quickly. I have been lacking on finding suitable subreddits to exploit though and thats where I have been hitting a brick wall. Nothing can really go forward until I have dug though all of reddit to find a laundry list of subreddits to crosspost to.

I also found a pretty good angle on how to build out a subreddit in the political niche that I am now dying to try out.

I finally got a shadowban on reddit for crossposting after about 5 posts (did nothing else so it must be for crossposting). The bad thing, my posts got deleted from my subreddit and they had engagement.
Not sure how long it lasts... maybe, I'll just open another account and only do 2-3 crossposts from each account.

I'm not sure why you got shadowband but i can tell you it's not because of crossposting... crossposting is totally fine.
i'm crossposting at least a 100 times per day in a couple subreddits too.
maybe your account is too new? or the posts are copyrighted? because if i see someone sharing my copyrighted content i just report to reddit about it and you get shadow banned.

i don't know if you know this or not but just a heads up.
when you get couple members on you sub. make sure to contact the mods on other communities in your niche and ask them to put your subreddit on their "related communities" on the sidebar and you do the same for them. this way anybody who visits their page they see your subreddit as a related community and viceversa.
