Copyright/Trademarked name in domain - What is your experience?

As the title says. After sometime, do your domain registrar suspends the domain and blocks your account or you get cease and desist letter?

Like those "iPhone" words in domain lol. What's your experience?

Android one - Google hit me up and of all companies that I committed trademark infringement against they were the only ones I freely gave up the domain.

The others, and there are a bunch, I just took the site off line but Google carries a bigger stick than most.

I wouldn't bother doing it on purpose. They can easily take your site down and you won't get anything out of it.

Oh you just shut off your site but didn't had to transfer the domain to Google?

On that one I transferred the domain to Google. I don't recall having an iPhone site but I do remember the Android one I had that G now has.

All the others I just pulled the sites down and waited them out and once a few months passed I would set it up again and wait for another overnight C&D.

i once took domain that had mycountrypresidentname with top tier ccTLD and then had some high-tier expensive lawyers on me because of president lost domain to them.

They did tell me to but I ignored them.

Their goal is to make the domains go away really as opposed to taking them.

They don't want the hassle from my experiences with them, they just don't want people to piggyback on their trademark and me taking them down accomplished that.

Try to avoid trademark names for reselling purposes unless you have plan to develop it in a different niche. Else you will end up with UDRP cases and penalty if the trademark owner noticed it and file a complaint.

I think if you are not trade mark owner sooner or later real trade mark owner will claim for the domain name you hold and invested into.
I would say that is a kind of very risky investment.
