Google announces product reviews algorithm update

Just because a sentence is unique, doesn't make it unique. BERT can understand context. If the context is the same, it's not unique. Since BERT targets sentences and not entire articles, doesn't matter which order you decide to review it in or how it reads to you.

I assume google will be rewarding the articles that mention unique entities the most that's relevant to the product.

Now if you don't own the product, it's going to be extremely difficult to mention more unique entities over someone who bought the product and reviewed it. Your essentially blind, your competitor has full vision. They automatically get a big advantage.

In terms of unique images, probably some way to manipulate with photoshop, haven't looked too much into their use of T-SNE and machine learning on images. But I'm confident it can detect small edits on images. Will take some big edits in my opinion to fool it.

SEO is shifting massively into AI and Data Science. Which means it's getting exponentially more difficult to manipulate the algorithm.
Good luck with that. ;)

Many of the big brand sites haven't actually tested the products and they remain largely untouched using the same product reviews format as everyone else.

That's because this algorithm isn't designed to punish like the penguin algorithm was, this is designed to reward. So the biggest fluctuations will be with the smaller sites that provide lower quality reviews for easier keywords since there will be a lot of variation amongst them with depth.

The bigger sites already provide in-depth reviews, so statistically speaking if they was to get overtaken initially, it won't be on many articles hence won't be a noticeable drop in traffic.

Essentially you can still rank low quality reviews, it's just higher quality reviews will overtake you. So lower quality sites will see a decline over a period of time as people start posting more in-depth reviews. Meanwhile the bigger sites will more than likely take the lead in the race with their big teams.

Providing google got this algorithm relatively accurate in relation to their guidelines.

I'm glad we have these forum experts who during their breaks at the call center can give us such deep and accurate analysis on things.

Have in mind that this guy was shocked 3 months ago when I told him that Google updates their algorithm almost daily and not only 3-4 times a year.

I'm glad we have someone like you who's worked in IT your entire life and came up with a USB stick as a possible solution to transfer files on a local network. Then proceeds to ask if the cloud is secure. Your IT company seems proficient in training.

Again, provide the context to the quote and the date posted, I'll be happy to comment. As that looks like word and date twisting to me, I wouldn't expect nothing less.

This doesn’t seem exactly true from what I’m seeing. For a bunch of keywords where all the other results were e-commerce, and no other “reviews,” I got pushed off the first page, with just e-commerce sites ranking now.

These are product roundups where I was ranking for not just “best xyz” but also “xyz.”

Interestingly, I’ve I haven’t dropped so much for “best xyz,” but that’s way less volume.

I'm not sure I quite understand, if you were the only review on page 1 vs ecommerce keywords, then the search intent isn't a review article?

I never said USB is a solution? Can't you read? I wrote it that USB would be too ineffective, since there are people like you who probably would suggest it.

I see reading is not your strongest side, just like SEO.

Don't sit and try to make stuff up, just because me and that other guy exposed you in that other thread.

The fact that you mentioned USB would be too ineffective means you actually thought about whether it could be a solution. Yet you have "worked in IT longer than I've been born"? When did you leave your IT career 1970? :weep:

Then you go on to say cloud might be a bit insecure :weep: yeah, you are an IT wizard. Sureeeeeee.

Meanwhile you were wanting filesharing on LAN and didn't think of SMB protocol. Even though it's used in literally every IT company on this planet. If you had worked in IT, you would know this. File sharing is literally at the core of every single IT company in the world. You can't manage without using it. So how did you not know?

I can see that you have 0 education in the IT sector. It's ok to pretend though... I don't blame you... envy is frustrating.

Haha, so emotional

This is actually a good update I think, will kill a lot of the garbage sites ranking in the top with low effort mass-produced articles. Leave more room to exploit imo.

Good.

No reason for me to waste time on someone who is below me in every aspect of life.

We have already deciphered that you have never worked in IT due to lack of basic IT knowledge. What other aspects are you referring to sorry? :D

- You work in a call center as tech support, and lie about being an "IT engineer"
- You have described yourself as obese and said that you have no muscles
- You are obviously not making any money
- Not long ago you thought Google only updated their algorithm 4 times a year (yet you try to act like you know SEO...)
- You get very emotional when people say that you are wrong or expose your lies
- You sit here all day every day

I'm done with you kid. I hope you sort yourself and your life out.

I see your tactic, you have no way to defend yourself so you go on the attack, classic ;)

If you actually read the other post, it said I worked on the phones, past tense ;)

I am obese, I love eating ;D

I do make money, I don't know why you think I don't ;D

Again, quote me, I've asked 10 times for the quote yet you ignore me ;D

I don't get emotional brother, tis the tinterweb, I'm only here for entertainment,

I have an office with BHW on one of my screens whilst I work on the other, what's wrong with that? Considering I have a service here and I'm looking to make more?

Enjoy lying about working in IT your entire life and not even knowing what file sharing on a LAN is :weep: I see you didn't get past the "call centre" stage :weep:

It’s that nobody else is writing these articles for most of these queries. Before I was able to easily rank on the first page in that case. For queries with other affiliate sites ranking, everyone else got knocked down too.

“xyz” in this case is a category of products, so before I guess Google thought it’s helpful to show an article that compares the different options.

Come on lads, not the best place for a pissing match. I will be monitoring the parasite articles that are ranking 'best xyz' for changes. So far its still the same news sites ranking over ecommerce sites.
