How do I do a charge-back? (Got FAKE DS's from DHgate)

Never use PayPal unless its your only option. PayPal does not protect you outside of eBay. DHGate.com is a secure website so you can pay with a Credit Card without worrying if your Credit Card details will be stolen. You can see if a website is on a secure connection when the url starts with 'https'

I use DHgate.com alot (currently bronze VIP, almost silver VIP but I cant be bothered) What is the name of the seller? If your story is true and I believe you I can buy some crap things from him and leave some negative feedback and I can open some disputes to tell him not to mess with Black Hat World.

Unfortunately the escrow service of DHgate.com is not what it seems.. Like I said before I'm a Bronze VIP (Ordered for a total of 1.3k USD) Opened 4 disputes for small things around 10usd and they did not do anything. (The reason I opened a dispute was because they provided me with false tracking information.)

Thanks for that information. I got your PM & replied. Appreciate the help! :)

I see he has 45 feedback. That is not a lot.

I also see that you didn't leave him negative feedback. How come?

You can change positive feedback into negative feedback incase you didn't know that.

Dont deal with paypal. Just call your credit card company and make a chargeback, and you will win and get the money back.

I don't have an option to do this, as I'm still in the DHgate Dispute. Ah, I was not aware of that, good to know for future. + Cheers for reading through the thread.

Are you sure? What should I tell them? Will they not ask questions about people still having the unsafe Nintendo DS's?

& Thanks for Reading. :)

UPDATE:

PAYPAL = @ssh0les! Apparently there policy only covers if the items don't come at all.

Anyone know, what now? how do I do a charge back?

Just contact your cc company and tell them the products you received were faulty or not as described.

And make sure to blast that seller in every forum you can think of and let me know you are putting him out there.

Blasting that seller isn't going to get his money back. Infact it can cost him money.

Life sucks move on. I hope you paid with a creditcard. If not you're screwed :o

The credit card contract says you can get your money back if YOU DID NOT RECEIVE WHAT YOU WERE PROMISED. There can be alot of additional facts (fraud or replica goods, etc) but you MUST stick to your story that you did not receive what was promised. They breached the contract. You win.

Hi Webdesign

Normally you can claim back under Section 75 for refunds which is a law that makes the credit card company responsible alongside the retailer for any purchases you make with your visa card.

But because you paid through PayPal you have to do a charge back which is not a law but part of the Visa Scheme Rules and you have 120 days to make a claim

Remember when you make your claim to say that you ordered Genuine Nintendo ds lites but received fakes instead so your order was never fulfilled

Checkout both these links the information on these will help you out alot.

if you cared about your ebay rep you would have saw this shit was fake with no ID number etc and not sold them in the first place
...at least thats what I hope my seller would do

There is a dispute process you can file with paypal but there is a time limit. If paypal won't grant you relief initiate a chargeback with your credit card company. Don't lie and tell them you didn't authorize it just be truthful.

let say I buy replica from DHgate.do i still can do a charge back?

Dont use DH Gate , they are a nightmare if you have problems.
I got some dvd box sets from them , was told 100% original etc but they were obvious copies.
When i made a dispute they wanted me to send back items ( too costly) and paypal only help if the goods dont arrive.
What i did was contact the seller and tell them i was contacting the distributor of the films and solicitors, then they offered some of the money back but not all.

Chargebacks are always your best option. Paypal has their dispute resolution to drag out complaints for 1-2 months to try to avoid the chargeback window as much as possible and confuse people about if they can do a chargeback. I have gone through this process, in my opinion, its best to call your bank and act somewhat naive, you dont have to say you sold the items or anything. Just say something like "I bought some items Nintendos and it turned out the came from CHINA, and they were FAKE and BROKEN"...it wont be the first time they have heard that sentence and they will probably just start the chargeback process. Then they mail you a letter to sign or something. You sign it and fax it back stating that the items were not as described. Then the other party has time to reply and refute the claim, they really cannot because they are selling fake items from China and they know it. So basically you will win the chargeback eventually after a lot of bullshit that you will have to deal with. Banks are generally nice about granting chargebacks because they dont have to pay the money and it keeps customers trusting using their credit cards for more transactions and paying more interest, etc etc. And in the end they dont give a crap about sellers. Any seller accepting credit cards will tell you how easy it is to get a fraudulent "not as received" or "not as described" credit card chargeback.
