THIS! With good keyword research you won't need a single backlink, but... you still have to post quality content (that thoroughly addresses the topics covered by those keywords) :)
you think it's possible to get 1-3 google ranking without any backlinks?

If so - the content quality must be outstanding.

on the contrary, content in such a scenario is secondary in importance. I mean, you still need to address the topic covered by those keywords so that your visitors are happy with your content, but this content doesn't need to be outstanding, like you've put it.

By outstanding content I think of 3k-10k long articles with table of contents, relevant and extremely depictive images, tables, infographics, stats, and all that crap... with relevant LSI sub-headings, bullet points, and so on. This is the type of content that I deem as "outstanding" but this content is only needed for extremely competitive keywords where all websites on the 1st page of google are already big, authority sites to such a point that getting 10 or 100 more quality backlinks won't matter shit. In such cases, outstanding content is what makes the difference indeed.

But for easy to rank keywords where the content is so thin or, sometimes, non existent, writing a 500 words article that answers the questions of that keyword is enough

That means the author still needs to spend money (or a lot of his time) for articles writing. Yeah, it may help with low-competitive keywords but deep keyword analysyse is needed for sure

well, if you're hinting at making money with SEO without spending time AND money on it... sorry to disappoint, but it won't work. Spending time is optional (if you outsource everything), but spending money is not.

So yes, you do need to write that content (how else are you going to make money if your visitors click on your link and there's no content on that page??)

I also have seen such a problem as a content writing - when the client ordered an article on a high-quality website (wich costs 400+) but the task he provided was invalid and the writer did an awful job. That means - task providing and writer's hiring are trully important the same as keyword research. (even more)

$400 for an article???? WTF? I mean, even a 10k words, perfectly optimized SEO article novel couldn't cost $400... well, I wouldn't pay for that anyway :D

Anyway, you just find easy keywords that you can rank with 1000 words of content for, then order an article for $10 from sellers on this forum and you'll be fine

Guest post outreach + article writing I mean :)

Guest post outreach + article writing I mean :)

Oh... yeah, that's more reasonable then

But still, guest posting outreach to cost $400 and still getting poor quality... damn! That's unlucky :)

Talk to Google's PR main representative at Google's headquarters and bring your website papers with you. I'm sure they will take a look at your situation and will boost your ranking for free. Take notes you'll need to have everything in place. Tell them that Syslay288 sent you. They'll understand.
Best regards

Oh yeah... But If the article quality was trully good it would bring more profit I guess.
That's why I prefer buying cool articles for 20$+ for expensive guest posts

generally, more expensive articles are indeed better quality, but - believe it or not - that's not always the case. I remember 8-9 years ago, a very well known and popular dude in a specific IM industry whose mailing list I was on (I won't say his name) had emailed a "promotion" at some point in which he offered 500 words articles for $50 apiece.

And the articles he offered were all in the same field he was activating in (internet marketing), and I compared his sample articles with the articles I was getting from a writing service that I was using regularly back then and there has been absolutely no difference, which is obvious considering the broad, non-technical niche that he was writing articles in. I mean, had those article been very industry / technical-industry oriented like how lasers focus the light, or how an industrial boring machine does its internal workings I could have understood the need for research and for being accurate in your writing. But an article on how ezines or safelists work to cost $50.... yeah, no thanks! I could write my own articles with the plenty of information available on these topics everywhere at that time

So anyway, the point is that theoretically, more expensive articles are generally better, but not always. And there are quite a few writers on this forum that can produce the same quality that you are paying $20 on, for around $10, sometimes less than that... especially if you order in bulk and they offer discounts for bulk orders.

The only time you will want to pay more is for articles that are at least 2k words long and which come with tables, stats, etc. If an authority site in your target niche accepts guests posts that must be researched in-depth and be structured in a particular way, then yeah, paying $100 or more for such a post makes sense.
