With SEO blogging is it better to have 3 2.5k Articles trying to rank for different pages or is it better to have 6 1.25k Articles trying to rank for a range of words in the same niche?

My strategy was going to be just pump out content. 500 words one week, 2.5k words the next. Just get small(or big articles out there as they come)

Now Im thinking you need each blog post to actually try and rank for 1 keyword on its own.

Is there a consensus on this.

Are blogs worth more than the sum of their ...pages or is it purely a page by page basis?

In general yes, each of your blog posts will focus on a specific keyword and its variations. As for the number of words, just look at the specific keyword and TOP ranking pages. That will give you an idea of how much words you need to write. Think about covering the topic/keyword, not in terms of strict numbers.

Quality earns more in SEO.
Inorder the big "G" is trying to inculcate more and more algorithms for ranking only to provide the best quality search results for its users.
So, when we make comparison Quality matters a lot.
But also, quantity helps somewhere and gains points to compete no.of pages with your competitors.

do not create posts that will compete with each other for similar keywords. google will have a hard time ranking you at number 1 spot for those keywords.

one way to figure out the number of words, see what the top 3-5 pages are doing for that keyword. the avg of those numbers should give you a directional approach on this.

U ain't gonna rank with 2-6 posts, no matter how long they are

You're focusing on the length of the content but what's important is quality content that gives readers complete information and keeps them engaging. Your competitors' analysis will give you idea about how long the content should be.

Quality content and unique content rank in a very short time
