Major media doing black propaganda campaign.

Hi, So i have a big issue. A friend of mine, recieved a fake news article written in one of the major media company of his country. I know as a fact they added information which is fake into the article. But how am I suppost to win against the best 694 website in the world (per ahrefs) in specific keywords google is showing his article for. I told him i will try to help. I would love your opinion on what I should do. I just want them to drop from 2nd or 5th in some keywords to second page

This is a program of what im doing:
1. more social media publications and keep them active (they did'nt post for months)
2. Youtube videos targetting major keywords they are ranking for.
3. Trustpilot (they never had one)
4. Mybusiness reviews (they had less than 10)
5. Landing page with the domain names of the keywords they are ranking for
6. Adwords on those keywords.

Anyone else want to share their opinion? I would really appriciate it.

I don't get the clear idea of what you are trying to ask?
You want to rank your friend's site for some keywords. And the competitor is some large media news agency. Right?

Hi, yes.
Basically they are ranking for their products names.
