Would you say, it converts better to price your ebook at 1.99 than 1.49?You know who else is smart. Marketers. If it didn't work some companies would be leaving millions on the table all because of a 1p drop.
You eyes reading and the brain decides the visual input well before we are consciously aware of it.
This 9 ending works best when you combine it with left digit bias.
For example dropping from £2.00 to £1.99 will have a bigger impact tha dropping from £1.50 to £1.49.
That's because the left digit is the same in the second example.
As a bonus you should also drop the £€$ in the lower price as well £100 becomes 99 visually its half the size.

Second option is much better.Seller's conventional way of luring in more consumers. The other one that still works is overpricing a product and then claim 50% off.

so basically, an increase of 0.50 leads to more conversions?
It's worth stating that these things work in unison with other factors and aren't magic bullets. However stack some psychological influences on top of each other and you can greatly increase conversation.There's a good post about it here, it's a lot of psychology involved.
