Hey guys,

I have recently bought an old website, making about $10 a month from a one post. It has plenty of backlinks. Some of the backlinks go to pages that are live, some to pages that don't exist anymore. The niche is general technology.

I think that it would be best to focus only on technology subniche to gain topical authority (for example Mac guides or Window guides).

My question is, what should I do?

I checked the articles in wayback machine and they aren't used anywhere, so I could restore them on my website. But they are all focused on different technology topics.

Should I restore them and from now on write only about one subniche and leave these on the website? Or remove all articles that aren't focused on that particular subniche and maybe somehow redirect the urls that have backlinks pointed to them?

Thanks a lot!
Alma

Hello Alma,

I would definitively restore them.

Then, link to your money page from the articles and pass link juice internally.

As suggested, you can restore them or redirect to similar topics depending on the value you feel they offer and the importance of the site in terms of public visilibility.
If this is like a PBN site, you can restore them "as-is". But if its a legit site, I would rewrite them, or simply, redirect as I've commented.

I've tried both options, and I have found a great value by recreating the page as-is but they are sometimes weird AF (for example a recreated page in english in a site in Spanish). But for linking face-value, they are powerful and I set some internal links to the home and other pillar content from those recreated posts.

Thanks guys! This is for money website. I want to build topical authority on one tech subniche (for example Windows guides) - do you think having few other articles won't hurt the topical authority if I were to restore them?

Thanks agains :)

You can mix it up.

Only things that needs to be identical is URL. Content of the page can be mixture of both topics.
