I realised after a lot of back and forths with that Samie guy it's really not worth it.

If someone isn't interested in listening to opposing ideas and doesn't have the mental capacity to understand them anyway, all you're doing is getting pissed off by someone that isn't even worth talking to.

that's why politics is a no-go for me. Had to give up on friends that were so politically opinionated from watching TV all day, you could see it fuck with their mind & head all day. Instead of focusing on just enjoying time in the present moment and being glad that we have gathered to chill... they were agitated and aggry about covid and politics....wtf ....

Yeah the problem is that the switch in all of our heads that decides if something is a fact or not can be overridden without us knowing it.. and then we watch different sources of information, by design that have polar opposite views.. then we watch enough of it so that we've taken in all of these "facts" over months.. then people come together with their "facts" and when one set of facts is polar opposite to the other, two separate realities are being discussed as if they're the same thing.

There's an objective reality that both groups should be focusing on.. but instead they're talking about their own subjective realities that are fuelled by two separate sets of '"facts".

COVID is the perfect example. Plenty of people on both sides don't give a shit about objective reality. They care about PEOPLE, not IDEAS, and this is where the big problem is..

Small minds focus on people"

All these dummies (on both sides) are focusing on people, because they're small minded and its built into their DNA.

They're like gossiping women at neighbourhood backyard party.. they don't want to talk about the potential impact that ubiquitous electric cars could have on global supply chains that had previously been dominated by the transportation of petrochemical products.. they want to shit on the one women who couldn't make it to the party because her hair looks bad.

Instead of focusing on the idea.. what is COVID, how is it changing the world, what's the impact of lockdowns, what's the impact of opening up the country etc etc.. they are transfixed on the "people" aspect.. "trumpers are just blah blah COVID denying conspiracy idiots".. "libtards are blah blah hiding in basements".

They can't handle discussing ideas for longer than 30 seconds without having to flip back to focusing on the people they disagree with, and they've seen the same stupid shit repeated on <insert propagandistic news channel> millions of times in the last months etc etc, so now whenever they talk about COVID they immediately start talking about the PEOPLE they disagree with and how dumb they are. Small minds focus on people.

Nothing more fun than talking to people that's neurologically incapable of thinking about things at scale, or at least with a shred of nuance.

Summed it up pretty good. Also there isn't only 2 parts on this, i have noticed on different people different views, facts and attitude towards Covid. And Since Covid it's like the world stopped...aside of covid and politics there is nothing on TV.

Also all the fake titles and news that fucks with your head and perception of reality is mind-blowing. I just apreciaate the people around me that they are healthy and close in my life. Talk about being grateful if you didn't loose your job becaue of this and you can go on, happy for everyone who is healthy and not jobless. Also feeling sorry for all the affected by this, litterely billions of people affected by this shit getting it out of proportions.
