Why can’t I start a direct message?

I joined BHW in 2007 and had a substantial no. of post. Then at one point BHW went on some version upgrade or sort of purging because of which I was reassigned a newbie status. Then, I got involved in some other occupations and remained absent for long. Now, as I returned, I found that I can't even PM other members. Well, Rule is Rule for everybody. I am starting a new journey. Thanks for clarification

Other people can send you a PM as well as you will be able to respond to it. You just can't start a conversation until you meet the (15 posts) requirement.

unless a user is looking to get banned .

Found this thread because I wanted to buy services, but I find it very hard without being able to PM users (needless to say I also do not have enough privileges to reply publicly). Now I read that I need to have 15 posts too do that. 1/15 I guess.

Yes, it's the same. You did not reach 15 posts, because there are sections, where posts don't count, such as the lounge. Your post counter is at 2 at the moment.

Depends. Certain sections here do not contribute to post count, for example the lounge posts don't count as post.
15 posts are pretty easy to get really lol. Just take part in the discussions. If you have an solution, post! If you have a problem, post!

That's not how it works.
You don't just spam to 15 posts. Be patient, and watch out for new threads; if you do not see one right now that you can take part in.

If you want to send a PM you need to have at least 15 posts, otherwise you will not see the option to start a new conversation. Make sure your posts are good quality and do not make short, spammy or low-quality posts just to boost your post count - these posts will be deleted and your account may be banned.

its auto enabled after 15 posts - just click on a users username
and click start a conversation
