Hard Lessons from Quora vs Google Traffic

You're welcome, mate. Quite interesting.

Thanks for this insightful share, certainly valuable information for anyone thinking of using Quora for traffic. I completely agree with you, but I think the reason Quora is still worth it is that it is a free source of traffic, so if you are on a budget it can be a good way to gain exposure at no cost, because SEO always comes at a hefty price specially in this day and age, so using Quora as a mean to help any project take off and then build up your SEO to gain traction on Google would be the way to go for me.

Thanks again for the awesome share!

Quora doesn't generally convert for anything. The ad impressions don't turn into revenue, the views won't fetch upvotes and the affiliate links are mostly ignored. The platform is mostly used for time pass and most of the users don't care about any content.

Well the views fetch answers if you gave something worthy. One of the answers I gave was shared by Quora themselves while over 50+ upvotes.

I don't know why, they just deleted series of my answers.
But I have another with over 60+ upvotes as well.

I found soccer moms to be the best converting traffic there is.....pro tip use emotions.....women in their 40s are desprate to regain their youth and beauty...they want to be desired like they used to....it's extremly shallow if you ask me but hey if it banks it's enough for me.

Same on Pinterest, soccer moms all the way, conversion almost 0.

Quora is great for traffic but not that much for conversions in aff sales, does well with ad networks (Adsense, Mediavine and the likes..)

I think the main thing here is to know how search intent from various sources differ. People seeking answers to questions (Quora), generally speaking, aren't looking to buy a product. They looking for answers about a topic or subject while someone performing a search in Google is most likely looking for answers (research stage), but also interested in buying a product or service.

Wow thanks for the Insight. I have recently been thinking about joining the quora bandwagon. But to be honest - I have not really found anyone that shows that the results of CTR or Conversion from their quora views. I was thinking about trying out Quora Ads - Do you have any experience with this yet?

Please let me know. Thanks a lot in advance.

I never joined Quora for converting traffic but to gain the powerful backlinks. I know it is nofollow but on that platform when people click on your key-phrase and visit your landing page it certainly affect your ranking.

I would like to start on Quora and your post opened my mind, thanks! :)

Quora these days is unpredictable. A few days ago, an answer that got 50+ upvotes and thousands of views was deleted for no reason - after all the hits.

On Google, I may have to click through to several sites, all organized differently, to collect different perspectives or facts about a query. On Quora, different perspectives are all in one place, organized nicely in an easy to read format.

Yeah, that can be so annoying. One of my answers had 100k views which they showed to their audiences with lots of upvotes and all of a sudden, they deleted it and since then, I said I can't waste my time again on Quora.

I will never recommend Quora for Traffic because Quora is best for Share your answer on social media. Google Analytics will show your Quora traffic as referral, and you can sort it out.

Quora is perfect for answer but this days quora deleted post without any reason. So I suggest you don't use quora for traffic.

Do your answers get deleted or do they get collapsed? 2 different things.

How long are your answers?

Do you answers directly answer the question and give examples?
