I discovered this after getting frustrated with Facebook's tools freezing and saying "not available" every other day.
What I found is that you can uncover more data on all your website visitors and even better create them into a custom audience to do as you please.
Now, I'm not the greatest with Facebook... So this may be already known.
As far as I'm aware, you cannot do this level of targeting through the normal methods (refining the audience etc. in the Audiences tab).
I know you can use Aggregated Values but with this you can manipulate the data even further.
With Facebook Analytics, you can filter anything and turn it into a custom audience!
And yes, you can create LLAs from them as well.
There are endless possibilities - so if you can filter, manipulate and use the data in analytics, you'll be able to find the best of the best audiences to target - as well as monitoring performances.
I'm going to walk you through how I created a LLA of the top 25% buyers who spent the most.
To do this you:
1. Go to Facebook Analytics in your Business Manager.
Not logged in: https://analytics.facebook.com/
Logged in: https://www.facebook.com/analytics/
2. Go to Activity -> Percentiles
This is on the right side of the dashboard.
3. At the top go to 'Add Filter' and select 'Create New Filter. -> 'Performed an Event' -> 'Purchases' -> 'With Greater Value Than A Percentage Of People' -> Select your value (I chose 75%).
As you will discover going through this step, you can manipulate the filter to whatever you desire...
This now filters out the Top 25% Purchases that have spent the most with you.
4. With the filter still applied, head over to the purple dropdown at the top and click it.
5. Click on Create Custom Audience
This will create a Custom Audience based on the filter you provided.
5.1 You can also save the filter here for the future
6. You'll be prompted to name the Custom Audience + Apply the filter:
Select your Ad Account and the filter - you can select Saved Filters here too.
You can also filter it by time - which is also powerful.
6. Create a LLA of the audience
Go to your audiences and simply create a lookalike from them
And there you have it, a LLA of the top 25% most valuable purchasers over the last 28 days, waiting to get targeted by your ads!
With analytics you can manipulate the data to REALLY go deep using multiple filters at once and really blend them to make an apex audience to target $$$.
Go and have a play around - that's the best way to learn how it works and what audiences you can find.
I hope this guide provided some value and will help anyone struggling to find hot potential audiences.
Good luck and happy prospecting.
