Google Local Listing SEO - Need Help

Hi,

I have website in a competitive industry. For my targeted keyword (keyword + Location), I am ranking on the page 3 and about 20th on the map listing.

One of my competitor is ranking for the same keyword (keyword + Location) on page 3 but it also shows in the local 3 packs.

Both websites has very similar DA and PA (homepage). Both physical offices are in the CBD of the location. In fact our offices are about 500 meters apart.

They have a lot more google reviews (70 vs 10). However they are ranking (local 3 packs) above some well established websites in the same locality with higher DA and higher review numbers.

Apart from the reviews, I operate from 2 offices and therefore I have 2 GMB. In all directories, I have put down the CBD address as the address of the business. Both GMB profiles are completed with photos and different description for each locality.

My backlink profile is much stronger than this competitor with a good number of links coming from high DA, niche relevant sites with traffics.

I have 2 questions.

1. What would you suggest for me to do to rank my CBD address in the 3 pack?

2. What are the questions you would ask or evidences you would want to see from a Local SEO Provider?

Try to put some social traffic on your site which is relevant to your business. Check bounce rate of both sites. Take a deep analysis of your competitor's website and find some points what thy missed.

Thanks. when analysing this competitor, I realised my backlink profile is much stronger than his. I am getting a lot more backlinks from relevant high quality sites with traffic. However this website is still ranking better than mine. The only biggest difference is that my website is about 10 months old and his is about 5-6 years.

I'm using SEMRUSH, I think AHREFS is much better but I don't want to pay for 2 tools. Do you have any suggestions?

You do any map embeds? Or have you seen your competitor include them?

Also just saw your post above, Ahrefs shows more backlinks than semrush from what I've seen

Frequent posting increases your ranking. Literally do a search, either here or on Google on how to rank your gmb

We both have the keywords in the GMB name. Not much image uploads but very frequent, weekly post.

What's the difference between posts and guest post map embeds?

Yes, and another thing G loves is user uploaded/geotagged images with the reviews posted by trusted/aged gmail accounts. They are x10 better, stick and will likely make the top 3 review schema in the GMB map pack if you include your keywords in the written review content.

If you really want the highest quality reviews for GMBs, pay your friends to search on G for the keyword(s) you are trying to rank for, have them scroll till they find your GMB, open up, click to call and have them on the line for 20-30 seconds, right after they should click on website, stay on each page for a minute, click thru to a few other pages, they come back to the GMB, leave a optimized review mentioning company name and keyword with geotagged image (you can provide).

Sorry, I simply meant get guest posts that are niche relevant and include a map embed to your GMB, and the guest post should be SEO optimized for your ideal keywords.

To find your competitors citations, do a G search of your competitors full address, partial address, and/or phone number like...

"1234 Easy St" + "company name"
Or
"Company name" + "xxx-xxx-xxxx"

Build a list in a spreadsheet and get listed on all of the ones they are on, plus get on others they are missing.
