I think a non Jr Vip can appy too. I didn't see Jr Vip as a requirement in the original post

I am way too impatient and inactive to ever become a good mod. But I know there are some fine people here who will make great moderators, so good luck to them :)
 
Need people strong in business and programming from scandinavia or what is the ideal candidates skillset in more detail?

I actually asked an Admin to lock mine last week or so (not for the reasons in the application to be a staff member) but there was extensive conversation with the forum owner as to a staff member being allowed to have a sales thread.

In that those conversations were private I won't comment on that as I am sure he will be able to convey what he thinks is appropriate much better than I ever could.
 
I'm surprised that people mind about those sales threads. Why put pressure on people who have spent years being a central part of building a community that everyone enjoys to remove their sales threads? Who cares, honestly. Their situation is a bit different to someone who has only just become a mod imo, it's a non sequitur
 
Good luck to everyone who has participated in this mod wanted thread. :D I didn't apply to keep providing the WordPress services here. But a good move to disallow sales threads for mods.

Anyone with a decent record on here, who contributes and can offer value to the forum would get my blessing, although that counts for not a lot as I don't make the selections.

I think that due to the forum changes and restructuring those who applied last year, were sidelined until the forum was updated etc.
 
ive applied 3 times. once under the old owner 2012
and twice under new owner in 2016/18
some things arnt meant to be. still, ill still help out
either way. name color matters not.

No disrespect but if you became mod I'd request my account closed

You were the first person that tried to call BS when I first became active as you thought I was trying to scam and seeing you being hostile with other members puts an offputting role imho that I would not want to see on the moderation team.
 
Let me add a few more requirements for the applicants:
  • You must not have been previously banned from the forum for scamming someone out of $800.
  • You must have a sense of humor and patience to deal with the same problems every day.
  • You must be cool with the fact that the forum is a 6 or 7 figure business but they still can't pay the mods who bust their asses for free a basic salary.
  • You must be over 50 years old, because older people have more free time and not looking to make a quick buck anymore, so there are fewer chances of them turning out to be scammers.
  • You must not have an alt or second BHW account.
  • You must not be in partnership with people offering your services or products on the BHW marketplace, otherwise you could just promote your partner's or friend's thread even though you don't have a sales thread of your own.

ive reported more spam posts / abuse posts in 12 years than you can count.
ive passed on info of attacks on bhw sales threads from users working on other forums
caught previous banned scammers and alt accounts and had them removed.

oh and in 2015 - b4 vip payments where auto renewed, read through 2300 threads
for WIZGIZMO and found hundreds of expired vips who hadnt re newed there vip avoiding trying
to pay while still running sales threads. what have you done ?

It is well past what many others do.

Members with a thick skin who are comfortable with confrontation whilst not being prone to it. Being able to handle feedback and constructive criticism is an important part of the position.

I am not saying that you have not done a lot, really boosted the proxy section, done tons of reporting. I am just saying that as long as I have seen you interact, and with how you treated me when I was new, I do not think it would be a great fit. That is just my biased conclusion of how I feel. If you wanna take it, that is fine, if you don't also fine. That is your right. This is mine

I understand what he does. I too report things
If he helps so much there has to be a reason he did try and was not approved 3 times

I am not trying to discredit anyone here I am just stating my honest opinion.
 
@blackwalker - i will just add, your name is not familiar to me
yes im sometimes a little forward with people, but usually only
to people bordering on rule breaking / spammers or scammers
and pulling them up, i do not randomly go after some one for 0 reason

usually some one who has annoyed me goes on insta block
and you are not on my block list. and as you mentioned i annoyed
you when you where new 4yrs ago, its 99% likely you where doing something
against the rules, or close to - and i said something to you

when you repeat the same things over and over again to new members
its possible sometimes i might be a bit harsher occasionally, but i
can assure you it was nothing personal. bare in mind that was 4yrs ago
and i wish you well.
