Hostwinds are becoming a nightmare

I also had bad experience with hostwinds, you get what you pay for... Go for siteground or namecheap, if offshore then njal.la

They are not a govt. job where you will have to stick with them for your entire life. Its a private hosting. I wonder why you waiting this long? Just move to another host and get a peace of mind

Maybe their servers are oversold, and they can't manage the resources anymore.

Please do. I just canceled my Hostwinds account because out of the blue all of my domains files were deleted. And cause I don't have their backup service I was SOL. So Fuck you hostwinds.
This doesn't sound right at all, would love to get some more information on this issue and what exactly occurred here. I have sent you a PM requesting this info! We do keep our own internal backups separate from the backup service clients are able to subscribe to. We always provide clients the ability to use these backups when disaster strikes.

We have had highly stringent quotas in place for years. We place products and services out of stock if and when we run out of capacity in a given location. We would never compromise quality in order to save a few bucks.

I'm assuming you're on a shared plan through Hostwinds? If so, there's your problem.

You're with a budget web host that is maximizing their margin by placing as many shared customers on a server. This means that you share the server's available resources with many other customers. If there's even a handful of those other customers on the same server or node as your sites are hosted on abusing resources it's going to affect both the server and your website's performance.

Slow loading speeds may indicate something wrong with their network, upstream and downstream providers, or simply the server or node you're on experiencing high CPU usage, high load, and a slew of other things. If they're managing DNS, it could also be something going on with their DNS servers.

Good luck! Never cheap out on hosting for your mission critical websites or applications.

For $10 a month you could have managed cloudhosting with cloudways. Im super satisfied with them.

Finally moving my last site away from this service... it has indeed been a nightmare.

I switched from them when the problems started slow website couldn't edit my posts it was so slow, constant bandwidth limits and so on. Contacted support and they said I should upgrade my package, which I did but 6 month later the same problems started and they told me to upgrade once again. I said fuck that and changed hosting, for the fraction of the cost and no problems what so ever

you buy such a low price services and you expect to see a lighting speed and not issue? :D

hostwinds are the worst... they are competing with godaddy for the worst hosting award.

That's simply not true.

If you're gonna diss a company like that, then provide some facts and proof.

I've dealt with 100+ hosting companies over the years and believe me if you think HW is bad you don't know what's bad.

I have proof as I still have 1 website hosted with them and I get downtime almost on a daily basis.

And if you've tried so many shit hosts, then you don't do your research.

Maybe you don't know what you're doing and you're fucking things up systematically.

Like hosting 250 sites on a gig of RAM.

Well a lot of large websites, BHW included, use Hostwinds and we see some dissing it, so excuse me if I'm skeptical.

I use their shared hosting... can't say anything about vps and other services as I don't know.

That makes more sense than just blanket-dissing the whole company. Maybe you were in an overcrowded shared server.

See? I complained 2 days ago, and today I got downtime again (I installed uptime monitor 2 days ago).
Yes, maybe, I got unlucky with the server.
