"Want to Sell" thread is needed in BlackHatWorld

We need a Want to Sell thread for Jr. VIP to be able to sell a product or service one-off. Selling does not necessarily have to be a BST all the time. There are situations where I just want to sell off what I do not
I completely agree with you, I have something I want to sell, but I don't even consider doing it on bhw because of the months-long wait for approval.

The time it takes to approve and the price of a BST makes it impossible to do small on the fly sales. These are the main selling points for a new "Want to sell" section.

Heres an idea. Make it so that only Jr.Vips can make a WTS, but anyone can buy.

This makes more people want to become Jr.Vip, therefore benefitting the forum. It also ensures the sellers for the most part wont scam people or sell crap.

Im not backing this because i have some idea to use this section. But i can see the appeal and how it can be useful to both the members of BHW and to thenforum itself.

Your soul isn't something we'd be able to allow you to offer ;)

It depends on the value / price of what you're wanting to sell. A $20 item you're not going to risk your Jr VIP for.

A $2000 item means we'd possibly attract Johnny 60 days and 100 posts suddenly appearing just to sell.

I just got PM from Damien to tell what I think.
That marketplace section, "non moderated" should be good, but not 100%, we need some moderation:
-threads should be also paid, maybe non $30, but also paid
-anti hijacking rules, we don't want shitstorm in threads, guy is not client, he cannot review
-10 jr.vip review copies required in 30 days after thread opened, we don't need moderator review, but atleast other jr.vip should review
-single sell products - non review copy, but buyer must write it's sold and thread reported to close by OP

Yes. And if the buyer is caught to not report within say 7 days of sold out, he risks a ban or some penalty.

The idea that other Jr VIP should review sounds absurd tho. I don't really get it. It is a single product. In fact a copy. Example is a single copy of a software with just one transferrable license key available. How will 10 Jr VIP review that? Not feasible!

Sometimes you need to sell something quickly or it's trendy
So waiting 3 months to get the bst approved is time and money waiting

Damien told about Wild West section, so it's also for multiple products. Read his post.

I could have used this many times over the years. Years ago "the forms" (including BHW if I recall) worked BSTs without having it moderator reviewed and I never got scammed buying anything ever. yes you have to do a little diligence and be smart, but if its jr vip only and you look at someone whos been around for years and has buck loads of posts and thanks and a good rating (like itrader back in "the day") then it was a non issue. I sold tons of stuff and never had issues, if someone complained I resolved it.

Lots of times I just sell 1 off things to my mailing list, but having other eyes that may not have signed up with me would be great.

That said if you registered last month and just bought jr vip, im not buying from you, but I feel like thats common sense. When I was new and even if I started a new product now, Id give away samples or reviews. Maybe thats not always viable, but if people trust you and buy, then no need. If people don't trust you then you can figure it out.

I think if there is an issue though the resolution process needs to be outside of BHW. BHW mods don't need to deal with crap like that, they have enough to do.

Let paypal handle it. no shitlist, no messing around, leave a bad review in the thread, leave a bad rating file with paypal and keep moving.

Also having lived in Phoenix, AZ for years, I fully grasp the wild wild west. My kids schools have a skeet shooting club. Yeah the school facilitates the high school students shooting real guns... people carry them around in public, its the wild wild west. When we drive north to Flagstaff we pass thru horse thief basin... its not called the wild wild west for nothing, lol. Id consider it one of the safer places though, we rarely had issues. No place is perfect of course.

Point being when everyone is smart and does their due diligence, things work. Sure it only takes 1 person to foul things up, but then you just don't do business with them.

While I don't think it should be BHWs problem, the bad reviews should be left up and the bad ratings should be left up so people can't just keep scamming people.

Worst case put up a system where if reviews ratio is at least X number of reviews and X percent is negative then the person gets banned from listing in the WWW section. Possibly at that point there could be an appeals process and a moderator could review the persons account for reinstatement on listing, but else let the wild west be what it is, and just put smart systems in place so smart people can use them.

My 2 cents.

+1 For unmoderated marketplace section.

As long as everyone knows it's unmoderated, they will take extra precaution.

The wait time for the approval process is the driving factor for my +1 on this.

I think this a cool idea. I have left over subscriptions, softwares etc... from my previous projects. This could help alot of people.

Well said.

WTS thread shouldn't be moderator's head ache at all since they've got other things to do.

Due diligence suffice! Absolutely!

PayPal? I am using Stripe ;) No Paypal account because fraudulent chargebacks :p
Shitlist? Needed, but the rest I agree. Why to have even mod approval for whole marketplace? I have seen shit products and perfect products, both positive reviewed by moderator, so moderator opinion means nothing for me today. Shit list is needed if someone not delivering product/scam but still I think Jr.VIPs are not doing it mostly.
Wild West? Whole marketplace should be wild west ;)

Now we have GIGANTIC backlog with threads for moderation. Damien is not making money because of that, we waiting few months.

Would having a section for single items not indirectly hurt people selling software here?
As people will buy and then sell again here also.

Not saying it is a problem just stating it will hurt sales for people selling software here for sure.

I think this is a very good idea, would love to see this approved on BHW

Haha dude.
Only WTS threads should be wild west since normal BSTs are always recurring with repeat buyers. But this one is different dude. It is one-off. Quality control of normal BST by mods makes a lot of sense. But I feel it won't apply properly here to WTS. Due to the same reason, it is a one sale thing. Done.
