Best E commerce platform suggestions

If you're all about price margins, you can host WordPress & WooCommerce cheaply, whereas platforms like Shopify require a monthly cost!

I built many sites using wordpress and built a store using opencart. I dont want platforms like shopify using my data. Is there a way to get magento for free like opencart and try to see whats going on, on a localhost?

I am pretty sure they have an open-source version which probably provides slightly lesser functionalities and no support, they have a github page.

Thats one of the reasons why i want to host myself. The other reason is that i dont want my data to go to shopify

Get some CPanel Hosting, Install WP and you'll be set.
