I just uninstalled this spyware. Had my windows 10 updated a couple of days back, and the new EDGE looks sick! The look n feel is totally like Chrome (no shit.. Chromium inside), and it even imported all the sessions for me. With a few minor tweaks, I could get rid of the Microsoft News that loads in the home page, and also change the default search engine to Google. The fun part is that Google hates it. :D Everytime I go to google, it tells me to download chrome... Not anymore!! I could easily use EDGE for my day job as well (tested this today. The inspect element panel is exactly what it should be).

The only thing I hate about this browser that it doesn't let me change the search engine for their default home page search box. If there's a trick to do that, please share!!

So, did you get the update yet? Are you ready to uninstall chrome, the spyware?

Good for you man. I did that a long time ago. I'm balling with Brave Browser.
Still using Brave? Read this:

;)
tbh, all browsers from such huge tech companies must be spying on users, I think.
Yeah, that's a possibility. But I use Google search as my primary search engine. I don't want this combination of search engine + browser. By using EDGE, I could avoid that a littlebit, I guess.

I'm doing it tomorrow! I need to start fresh with this crap.

On mac these days. But yeah, recently installed Edge on windows laptop. I was surprised seeing them supporting chrome extensions. Later found out it was chromium based.

You can import it all!! No need to start fresh. Even the login sessions are saved fine. I was logged in to BHW when I opened bhw from EDGE for the first time (they did ask me if I wanted to do that.).

To be honest, safari is awesome. I wish I had that kind of fund to buy a mac right now lol.

Oh I see. :D
Maybe Windows 10 still spies on you. Block its updating.
I dunno man, I haven't faced any trouble till date. I do have a genuine professional edition of Windows installed, so I have not blocked anything yet. Also, Google tracking me is a different thing than Bing/Microsoft tracking me. Google can do more harm because of their related products like the search and gmail. Not sure what microsoft would do with my data..
You could do Firefox as browser and DuckDuckGo as search engine :)
I don't actually like FF's look n feel that much. I do agree that it is a good browser, especially on android; because you can use ublock with it. You can have DDG in EDGE as well, in case you are wondering.
using Opera :D
I like their free VPN, but that's about it. :D

Yeah FF doesn't look the best but it happens to be the safest. Not a big fan of closed-sourced browsers, especially not from Google and Microsoft :D

For me personally chrome works well and you know what they say “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

But it’s good to hear that Microsoft are FINALLY getting there with their browser capabilities!

I just grabbed the lifetime deal for the new(er) Stack Browser PRO while they're running their special (no affiliation, just a huge fan and only found out about it a few days ago - free version is solid as well).

Been setting up Spaces and Stacks within it for different projects and it's already been a game-changer in just a few days of use. They're working on chrome extension support and when they have that nailed down it's gonna blow everything else out of the water for productivity (at least if you juggle a lot of separate projects, clients, and/or web tools) IMO

I hear edge is all the rage. Been aching to try it might check it out, you say its really solid no? that they used chromium on the backend?
