Hey guys,

I have a website with viral articles and quiz, a french website.

I'm getting about 800 pages views per day, using adsense to make money, about 0.20$ per day.

The problem is that i'm having very low CPC, about 0.03$ per click !
I really dont understand why i have a low cpc, i tested auto ads, and all manual one.

Now, my host and domain will expire in 2 days, about 160$ for host, and 13$ for domain.

Do i have to pay and continue ? Please sugggest me. I need that for my parents.

Damn! Your CPC is so low. I bet most of your traffic is coming from tier 3 countries. My advice, renew your assets and focus on targeting users from tier 1 countries, like France and Canada. How many posts do you currently have?

hey, i have more than 100 articles, with about 20 quiz. 90% of my traffic come from France mate.

Well it's as expected if your traffic comes from france. You have 2 choices , either u change the language of the content to english or you increase the traffic and optimize the ads

Renew your hosting and domain (if you can) then switch from AdSense to ad testing platforms like Ezoic, Mediavine and others, your earnings should increase with the number of pageviews your getting daily.

You mean, $160 yearly or monthly? I would go with cheaper hosting if i was you, you're not getting much visitors... That could save you some money aswell

Yes 160$ yearly, i'm with Chemicloud.

try taboola is much better than fb ads.

Hard to be approved, need a minimum traffic for that.

I can't guarantee u that but i'm sure it will increase a bit.

Put the big sticky banner on your site ( the one that show on the footer) and for the other ads try to optimize them to increase the ctr. Since u are making 0.2 per day from it and the total cost of it is 173 and u basically make $72 from it so it bring down the cost to 101 per year , maybe u should give it a chance for another year or move on.

Google give you free $300 for VPS server which is you able to set up a $50vps/month, that let you go for another 6 months.

Try to use some URL shortener with each quiz featuring
You will get at least $10 per 1k

Contact Namecheap hosting and ask them help you move your website to theirs, domain + hosting total cost less than $25 first year (choose UK hosting center please). Paying $160 for a non profitable website is bullshit.

And adsense is pretty shit, french traffic has very low CPC too, its normal I would say, its just the adsense paying shit nowadays. You can try to optimize your ads position, for example you can try 4 fixed ads per page:

fixed 300x250 rectangle above the article
middle (same as above)
bottom of the article (same format)
and a fixed sidebar 300 x 600 ads

(I guess manual ads would perform better than auto ads, especially for non english site, just my guess, no data supported)


You can Google best adsense ads format and placement etc to check what they say, but it won't give you big improvement, since adsense is really paying shit even in English!

Another tip for you, find a competitor quiz site see what ad network they are using, apply.

For ads position and format i tested everything since 1 year and nothing changed.

All the website is in french, do i have to switch all the website to english ?
My website name have a french name, so i have to change to another name, and applying again to adsense, that will be long.
Or i have to keep the domain name, and delete all articles and creating new ones.. in english.

Do not drop it in any case!

Reduce costs - now you have a very expensive hosting! It can easily be found much cheaper.
Change the method of monetization, it’s definitely difficult to advise here, but you need to test.

800 views a day is a great result and needs to be scaled. Starting development with 800 views per day is a million times easier than having 0 views per day!
