does anyone know a way to add titles without changing the position on the SERP?

What's the point? I mean why you need to change it if it is already ranked?

I want to target larger keywords that attract visitors

Your ranking will drop if you put wrong title which has nothing related to your page.

If you felt, your page content is much more related to your new titles means go for it. But there is no guarantee in SERP change.

If you done some changes in on page there will be some dancing in ranking position. That's how it works.

Why not write a new bigger content piece targeting the bigger keyword and interlinking the content?

What will happen is you might lose "some" ranking all together by changing that title, especially if it is already ranking well.

Google should be good enough to know what your content is about, but for keyword targeting, in general, it might affect it and for me wouldn't be worth the risk.

If the new Title is more relevant to the content and same intent as the previous keyword used, you can change. However, I guess there will be a chance for fluctuation in ranking for some time.

h1 and h2 titles are important elements of a website and these changes should trigger the Google dance.. though, isn't this what we do all the time?

:) it is ok to test new things (well, the ones that can't destroy our rankings completely)

thank you all for the suggestion, maybe I'd better make another page with better keywords.

If you can change your tittle not affected for ranking. Instead of that you can try better keyword for another page.
It will be better for ranking up.

Changing your site’s title just for the sake of expanding keywords is by all means excessive. You will expose yourself to significant risk for very little gain. If I were you, I’d do as the others said and simply write (or order) some posts that will target those new keywords.
There’s no need to risk throwing away what you already have for a chance of getting something new. Play it safe and smart. SEO is crazy enough as is.
