One of my domains was hit and a page that gets traffic the most lots its ranking. Now, I'm recovering pretty fast and a few possible explanations for my spike in traffic could be:

1. Modifications I did to my page's content.
2. Increased interest in a trending topic covered by my page.
3. Internal linking

What do you think?

Google core May Update. (May 4th - May 18th)

What changes triggered the recovery?
I basically made a research on what's trending around my page topic and edited the page content adding new stuff. I also updated the page published date recency.

To me it doesn't sound like it was hit.

I mean... you didn't share your previous rankings / pageviews so I am not sure you were hit that much. It's been almost a month now, I am still waiting with my sites and some of them seen a small improvement, but nothing drastic, and I did what you've done - Internal linking, updated content.

You got a pump of traffic around 4-5 May when a lot of people where hit by the algorithm. Then a dump which is just a correction of that sudden increase. Your website doesnt seems to be hit at all
