Guys, Is weightloss is really a risky niche on Pinterest? Since, pinterest have recently banned my domain and suspended my account after I post weight loss/diet pins..
It's really heartbreaking...I have built the account for a year and got 2.5M monthly views and then they destroy all my effort..

Thanks

The weight loss niche is very hard to rank. Not only Pinterest, generally its hard to rank.

I know it's a very competitive niche. But I heard that pinterest easily ban a website in this niche, if the domain isn't quality...
Is this true?

big beast sites are ranking for this niche everywhere....but possibly you can drive some traffic from FB groups
You're right bro.. but the CTR of weight loss pins is awesome..from my experience..:D

Yes, it's true. Google checks the authority of authors on Health sites. Similarly, Pinterest now checks the authority of health domains that are claimed on their platform. They don't want their audience to engage with false information because false Health informaion can cause serious problems to Pinterest audience.

So, If you are in this niche then try to write research-based articles.

I don’t think they banned you because of weight loss, were you using bottling of any kind
No, mate. I don't use bot. Even, I have only one account.
My mistakes were:
  1. I've got 2 DMCA strikes for stealing image. But Actually I don't steal any pins, I just used images of some websites, edited them using Canva and then used them for my pins. The owner of the websites has reported me..
  2. I redirected my website to my other website of mine that has been blocked by pinterest.
But I have read in this forum(i forget the link), weight loss is a risky niche on pinterest.
If your content isn't good, pinterest will easily block your domain.

Your competitor also will do unethical thing by reporting your pins even you don't do any mistake.
They just want to see your domain is blocked or your account suspended.

My conclusion is: pinterest marketing is a risky business.
My advise is : Don't depend solely on pinterest traffic or you will lose your income anytime!

Mate, please read my previous reply..I haven't used any bot..Even, I have only one account..

You have a solid choice going forward.

1. You start another similar account and relaunch everything again under a new domain and account.
2. You start a new venture/traffic source, as you know how risky it is to hope everything comes from one source.

Both of these are musts now.

It's true..
  1. I have started a new account and will be really careful to not get banned any more..
  2. I have started to do SEO again and create more blogs in my language to diversify my income..
Thanks for your input, bro..:D

I'm in the same boat man. Had an account in a weight loss related niche with 1M monthly viewers get suspended. I submitted many appeals and looks like I won't get it back.

I'll admit I had a few aggressive pins when it comes to showing things like before and afters so I guess that could have been my issue. But other than that I did not spam or do anything that broke the rules. The majority of my posts were just recipe or food related.

I am also re-launching my site and will try to keep it a bit more 'clean' this time and see how things work out. If I end up getting banned again I think I may try to do a more bulk approach where I just have multiple domains with the same content and spread things across multiple accounts.

Interessting. I didn‘t know. So if the article is researched, i don‘t get bannded? Or is it possible to get bannded if the content ist right?

A lot of people try to rank their pins on Pinterest, in this niche. Risky? I don't think so. Hard? Definitely!
In you case, this seems to be the issue: I redirected my website to my other website of mine that has been blocked by pinterest.
I suggest you to come with a brand new website and don't use redirects. From the mobile, user can rate the website target, so you may got some negative ratings ( and also complaints ) about that redirection.

If you're scraping, then it's risky for ANY niche, not just weight loss. Scraping has been a cat-and-mouse game for a few years now.

Now more than ever, working with narayana health bangladesh, a big chunk of the traffics are from weight loss tips related pins.

Pin Scraped from other end up get banned. A lot of my accounts got banned. I am making my own pins now
