All these services come and go due to their nature. Most money stored there is, well, somewhat shady to say the least, it is the matter of time when authorities decide to bust it.
And of course they will make promises for as long as they can.

Nobody busts those companies because the funds stored there are "shady". This is just not how it works. None of these companies was busted for this exact reason. Not even BTC-e.
Let's not forget that epayments is not some offshore shit, they have a license in the UK. They are required to store customer funds separately from company assets, and there's no reason currently to believe this wasn't the case.
Yes, it's true, FSCS doesnt apply to them. But what does that mean? It means when shit hits the fan, you won't be compensated with british taxpayer money by the british government. But if the accounts where they store the customer fund are intact, they are required to return those funds to the customers, and authorities can enforce that.
Am I 100% sure this will resolve happily? Of course not, but this exact situation is far from hopeless.
