Hey guys, I am new to SEO and have a bit of a noob question.
What advantage is there to making a blog post on a new domain instead of using a parasite? Parasites have more domain authority and you can send them a lot of bad links and seemingly rank better. So if I wanted to write articles promoting cpa/affiliate offers, is there any reason to make my own website instead of using a parasite? Thanks

You own the blog. You have control over it. You build an article on a parasite page, blast it, get it to top, then if the webmaster wants, your page gets taken down and you lose everything.. You have full control over what happens with a blog that you own.

I considered Parasites as a churn and burn method to make a quick cash but if you are looking for a long term business you will need your own website.

If you take care of the parasite properly, it's a great way to have a long term investment.

This actually happened to me today.
Its better if you jusy get a backlink from a parasite

Can someone briefly explain to me or point me a good article explaining what exactly is a parasite and what is it good for?

Because I've heard that term a lot but never understood exactly what it is.

Thanks.

How often does this happen though? I understand if you're using a bad niche like game hacks or adult they have a reason to delete it, but otherwise why would they? Would they detect the bad quality of the links and delete it just because of that?

It happened more than you'd think.. And it isn't a problem when all you invest is the content.. But if you put some money into links and promotion.. then you really hate to lose the page..

Parasites are articles that you post on websites that you don't own, that already have authority and that accept external content. Buzzfeed for example lets you post an article on their domain. Your page on their domain is called a parasite because you take advantage of the authority they already have, to push your content and rank easier..

For short term you can go with parasites, but when it comes to long term use your own blog, there is possibility parasites can be crushed/removed without any intimation, you may loose the control, make your blog interesting with quality content, use backlink from high DA, DR, websites, using parasites is not an effective one. Thank you.

Paeasite js not reliable and scalable, blogging is long term.

basicly parasite is posting your article in High Da branded website like medium etc. so the article can rank easily in the SERP, at the same time give backlink to your site.
Cons doesn't have total control on the site, Blog mean total control but you need to build it up so it have higher authority.

If you mean blogs with your own content and a good already reputed domain, this is a longer-lasting and more powerful strategy

But parasites shall not be seen as an alternative but as a complement. They are fast to be done, contrarily to blogs that need a little works to make them look fine. My rule of thumb: unless you are building a PBN site, your blog should be so good that they should pass at minimum the adsense policies. In fact I send my blogs to adsense even if I'm not willing to monetize them via Google just for a quality check. This is a lot of work, but, specially for selling guest posts or self-interlinking they are a guarantee of long-lasting authority power.

And this post is made on medium which is a parasite itself. No wonder they catching on to the blackhat stuff!!

For a long term strategy, it is good to go with blogs. Use your quality content on your own blog, it will be more effective and will give you more control.
