Hello all,
I thought id keep a journal to show my youtube journey and at the same time it may help someone else with theres
I own a promo/compilation sports channel on YouTube.
Some information -
Subs: 2154
Videos Upload: 5
Monetized: Yes
I created the channel on 29th February 2020 (leap year) i find that to be a hopeful lucky charm and to be honest, just realised it now lol.
I first uploaded two videos which got around 100 views each. Then i read DarkReeves thread about monetizing my channel, and got monetized in around 16 days.
Outgoings:
Video editor: $70
Scriptwriter: $32
Voiceover: $15
I get 4x videos made per month totalling $468 per month.
To date iv only made $0.49 via YouTube Ads.
I average around 15-30 views per upload organically but when i promote it via social media it does grow a bit, but dont see it as longterm effort to keep doing that.
Instagram gives me 0 views when uploading a small clip and using hashtags.
Facebook gives me around 20-30 views...im joined to around 8 groups with a total combined member of 500k, so not sure why i only get that much low views.
Twitter gives me 0 views
I spent $90 on FB ads, didnt get that much clicks on Youtube channel but got views on the video uploaded on FB aswell as around 700 likes on FB Page
Instagram ads worked alongside FB ads and that got me a couple hundered likes on posts and views...30 followers and around 30 youtube channel visits.
Google/Youtube ads i spent $2 per day, it got me views and subs but i dont know whether to carry on doing this and spend money or leave it.
I spent $70 on a IG Shoutout from a 250k page with 4% Engagement...i only got around 30 views.
At this point im stuck, not sure how to proceed...i have 1 video uploading this sunday and another video schedualed already on the system to be uploaded but i will only have to do the same thing again which is upload a clip with hashtags on IG to get 0 views, upload a tweet with hashtags to get 0 views and upload on 8 FB groups with 500k members in total to get at maximum average 30 views.
P.S i do the usual YouTube SEO Title, Desc, Tags and a good thumbnail.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
As far as im aware i have around 4 main competitors...they average between 250k-1.6million subs and get around 250k video views. I want to reach that aswell.
In the meantime, i will continue as per normal with video production, marketing and uploads and give an update every Saturday here on the thread.
