Then don't make it look spammy? shouldn't be so hard to sneak in an affiliate link or two in a detailed comment. Testing this out as I've found some pages with 80k monthly views and 0 answers that are instantly approved and see how it goes.

Making few different disqus accounts should also do the trick.

I'm not sure about any niches – I promote SaaS service. So I usually search for a "10 services/sites for doing X" which implies that it's a list of services, and people discuss links and services

And something like "Thank you for that list! I'm a bit curious why you didn't mentioned site.com in your article ? They have XYZ features and do X much better\faster\cheaper than serviced you wrote about"

Are those big traffic sites you commented on? if so, how many traffic did you get out of 10 comments?

It's true that it all depends on the niche. My niche is quite competitive and I posted on big traffic sites, and no matter how not spammy it looks, most of time they got deleted.
