Hey guys! I've been away from BHW for awhile now due to starting college and working as a waiter.
However, due to the pandemic, all my hours have been cut and I've been left alone at home to study with no work. I decided it was a great time to hop back into IM as my courseload isn't too difficult and I have a lot of free time on my hands.
In the past, I have operated an Amazon affiliate website and at its peak, it made around $200/month passively. It had around 70k words and backlinks built to it. However, I stopped working on it and its earnings dropped a lot. Fast forward a couple months, I decided to let it go and let it expire (dumb decision).
The website now has been purchased by someone else and all my writing is used by the random person that bought my domain and scraped my previous articles. I feel really shitty about all this and all my work being "stolen" but I can't really do anything except move forward.
My Current Project
To hop back into IM, I decided to start another Amazon Affiliate site, as this is what I have experience in and I have a lot of experience writing articles about Amazon products. I also can churn out high quality articles pretty fast, so I don't mind going this route.
I know Amazon Affiliate is a grind and a marathon, but I hope I can stay on track and hopefully you guys can follow me on this journey too.
My Progress
Currently, I've chosen my niche and got myself a list/categories of keywords I want to target. I have purchased a domain, got myself a dedicated server and installed Wordpress, setup https, and have installed a theme (MyThemeShop is giving away their premium themes for free right now by the way).
For the rest of the day today, my plan is:
Finish setting up the site (minimal, clean design), design logo, categories, link structure, essential pages (contact us, about us, etc), and hopefully get 1 or 2 articles up.
My SEO strategy is to write high quality, engaging content for the readers to enjoy, and optimize the articles for the keyword I'm targeting. I'm also planning on contacting blogs or sites in my niche to guest post for them. My overall strategy is to rank the site using awesome content. Any side links I get to my site will be considered a plus.
My Goals
Before April is over, my goal is to have at least 10,000 words written on the site. Site should be completed by then and all that the site will need is content.
