I want to start my blog journey but I am not sure to start it with Medium or wordpress?
I know start with WordPress gain me a lot of benefit. But Medium will gain me a lot of reader.
Can anyone suggest me with Pros and Con?

Yes, medium is a web 2.0, you want to summerise your articles there, or make them even better, up to you,
but if you link back to your self on wordpress, then you have complete control over your traffic and revenue.

Wordpress (and wordpress.org not wordpress.com). This allows you to control the website where the content is listed and then you can make money from it using Adsense or other methods mentioned here by people.

Like Mr Positive said too, then you can repost your articles on Medium and get the best of both worlds.

I would prefer WordPress. A lot has been written about this at BHW. It seems that reading a couple of posts you will become a master in this field)

Start with WordPress so that you have full control. Even in monetisation, you will have to share with medium some amount.

Guys, thank you so much. I'll host with WordPress

If I was at your place, I would have chooses WordPress. There are so many plugins and it can also be easily customised.

Medium is not yours. The owner can remove you anytime. Build your own blog.

You can choose WordPress because it has full control over your content. And you will have a deciding authority who you share it with.

Start with WordPress. It is owned and managed by you, you are responsible for all updates and maintenance to your website, unless you take advantage of managed WordPress hosting.

Like everyone has already said it's best to have both. You can actually syndicate posts from wordpress directly to Medium.

Now I have experience with both so I'm just commenting to let you know that (to me) it is worth the extra effort posting to medium.

I post very rarely, once a month or so. I have about 10 readers per my 10 articles per week. And that results in about $5 per month. Which is nothing, but suggests potential. However my WP blog get's some of that attention which makes my WP blog grow simultaneously.

Also a tip is use Medium groups on Facebook. You can grow pretty fast on medium if you want to. But it's also highly saturated, and by many regarded an untrustworthy source. Things to keep in mind.

I've done many Wordpress blogs, but I would say it is better to have a blog in more than one place.
Wordpress is a good learning curve.
Tumblr is another option.
The more ways to get your content exposed on the web the better.
