Hey fellas!

I've been writing articles mostly in the field of technology for a couple of years. Recently, I've created an Upwork account as well, and I have to show people a portfolio, since nearly all of my articles were sold and there isn't my name showing up anywhere.

So, I've decided to create a blog.

Can you give me some tips, because I'm an absolute newbie in owning a website?

For instance, should I purchase a domain and hosting from WordPress?

2. Should I be oriented only on a specific niche?

3. What are the tips you can recommend me to implement in practice so that I can attract some traffic?

Also, for the start, I don't plan to do any affiliates, I just want to fill my blog with useful things and some catchy news that people would like to hear and read about :)

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing back from you!

Howdy!

Well you can create a multiblog.
Health, news, tv&movies etc in way to get advantage of the most possible niches.

You can start with the godaddy promotion .com domain + 1 year host for wordpress for 12$ only. (recommended to 25000 users per month)
Build a wordpress blog, there is a lot of free themes online or you can use @Festinger themes site, its a lot cheaper.
Then put your first content and optimize SEO for traffic.

Self learning is key.

My best regards.

Thanks! The cost-effectiveness should be my priority as well, because I can't invest in a blog that already has a good SEO rank and traffic! Your tips have been superb!

Well just create a blog about all the stuff u want to talk about and create categories. Do u acctually want to monetize it ?

Well yes, in the future because there are numerous things I have to look after before doing so, like SEO, etc.

Just start from now ! Best of luck :). Yes u should buy a domain and hosting

I prefer the self-hosted version of Wordpress, it's much more scalable and gives you way more freedom (to install plugins/themes/custom scripts/etc) even if you go with cheap hosting. Pretty much all hosting companies offer one-click installations these days do its a no-brainier IMO.

So, should I go all-in for Wordpress domain and hosting? I have 1 year free period with domain, the $8 plan deducts monthly or $96 per year which is excellent I think given what they offer

Yeah that's sound like a nice deal. The great think about Wordpress (the self hosted version from Wordpress.org) is the ability to extend it through plugins and themes, with a lot of them for free.

Don't go with the free version of wordpress.com as that looks very amateurish and that's the last thing you want if you're looking to impress potential clients.

I will go with .com. I was thinking the same, without having .com/.org I shouldn't even have to start anything. Thanks for the advice bro!

Planning to Create a blog is a good idea, its better to go with self-hosted Version of WordPress. if you have the interest to write articles in multiple sections, create multiple blogs it will help you to increase the traffic. And also make a guest posting on the reputable site. Best of Luck!

Since you are creating the blog just to show your articles, do not spend much on an expensive hosting.

Well, I would like to make it better and expand it as much as possible. But, I have to start from somewhere, right? Thanks dudes :)

This!
But You should be creative and try new things in your blog to attract people, your own domain and self-hosting is always better.
Good luck;).

Hi,

All the best for starting to write the blog. Use nice content and useful information to the users so that the blog will reach more people.

The more specialized your blog (within a larger LUCRATIVE niche), the higher the chance your blog will be a success

Find questions related to your niche using Quora and Reddit

String up these questions into blog posts that are keyword-focused and INFO-PACKED - ie., ACTIONABLE

Start with 3 posts - at least 1500 to 2500 words each

Then PUSH these hard
- social media (ie., FB groups / reddit sub-reddits that focus on your sub-niche)
- forums
- Twitter (ie., the right niche-related hashtags)

Thank you so much for your feedback guys, all of you are amazing!
