I am surprised to hear this. They should have stopped this earlier as it will affect the growth of Snapchat.

I think people will still use Snapchat as Tik Tok is different from Snapchat. Snapchat still has that personal feel and is more casual. TikTok seems more like a creative space for entertaining short form videos. I think they both have value as different forms of social media.

They're not at all in the same category. Snapchat is more of a competitor with Instagram. You can look up the statements Evan Spiegel(snap CEO) made about TikTok vs Insta. He is actively cheering for TikTok to take them down haha
