It's the same as every other thing you can learn. You never stop doing that and you never tell anyone that you know everything. For me, it took at least 2 years to really tell that I KNOW SEO. Now after 4 years I know that 2 years ago I did not know shit. What I wanted to say - yes, it's really difficult as you need to learn by trying and experimenting. There are no versatile ebooks or schools out there. Scrambles from which you need to put together your knowledge.

Relax, there is no need to learn the so called SEO anymore, its nearly useless.

Just produce the high quality contents and outreach quality backlinks, you get everything then, 100% no seo, no need to consider it.

Without good contents and backlinks, even you SEOed all your websites, you won't walk further, time wasted.

The hardest part for me was the inaccuracy of information, because there is a lot of BS out there.
SEO and Google are constantly changing and it's difficult to gain statistical significant results from tests.

But that's also one of the most exciting parts.
There are so many topics to dive further into like analytics, technical seo, content, ux, cro, psychology, etc.

Your expectations drive your results in SEO. If you expect say a 10% conversion rate or rank by Day 30, then it will come off as difficult.
Secondly, there are no absolutes in SEO. You need to keep experimenting.

A lot try with fail and error. When found some good SEO tricks, then Google update the algorithm. Learn from start again till find the new one that work with the new G algorithm.
